Sansa legitimately let just under 3,000 men die for her personal gain, and with no motivation. The episode's writing was an afterthought to having a 'sick reveal' even though 90% of the audience knew what Sansa was planning already. On top of that, somehow Jon is okay with all of this secretive planning. He should have been pissed as fuck and not given her the vengeance kill and done it himself.

well its not like she could have just phoned little finger, you have to take into consideration that she must ride out to him, and then march a whole army back in time. It would have been like you said had she just stood at the hill with the army from the Vale and did nothing, but the the battle already begun.

I'm saying that she should have filled Jon in on her plan, and then she could have collaborated with him instead of keeping him in the dark. It made absolutely no sense for them not to plan out a battle in which they trick Bolton into a similar situation except without 90% of Jon's forces dying for nothing.

I'm with you on that. She should have told Jon that she was getting the Vale to ride in. They would have still wanted Ramsey to be out of Winterfell in full force so they would have to keep the Vale's army out of sight, but all that would take is some fake retreating and whatnot. It would have saved a shitload of Wildlings, Wun Wun, and probably 62 good men from Bear Island.

I just hate it because there's no possible defense for her actions because there's no way she had a motivation for not telling him, especially when she begged for the chance to have a say in the strategy. This means there's not even any point in discussing it since this whole situation is so clearly forced just for having a reveal and nothing more. I fucking love the rest of the episode, everything but the writing was orgasm-inducing, but I have such a hard time enjoying the episode as a whole when a plot hole as big as this exists.

Yeah, I felt a little cheated with that stupidly blatant of a Deus Ex. Like, they could have said that the Vale would be coming to aid them, but still have the dramatic effect of not knowing when they would arrive and having to hold out. It would have still been possible to end up in that same scenario.

Agreed, I'm really shocked that they could think of no better way to have a reveal other than to haphazardly center the rest of the writing around it as an afterthought.
