You automatically assume that since I want a choice in the matter I'm childish? Desiring freedom = childish, well way to insult the entire foundation of the United States. Also, no, I'm not bitching about the consequences of my choice, I'm bitching about my sheer lack of choice. Yes, I elected to have sex, yes i knew sex makes babies, but what about that second choice. Everyone is up in arms about giving the woman the choice on whether or not she wants to abort the child (essentially whether she wants the child or not) but then the father is expected to sit back and pay for whatever choice the mother makes, no questions no rights. My problem isn't the consequences of sex, my problem is in the choice about being a father. If the mother can opt out through abortion why can't the father equally opt out? That is the right I demand, that is equality, you have fun on that cloud of fantasy where child support doesn't fuck up a man's life as much as a woman deciding to keep an accidental baby. Here's the rub, a woman gets to DECIDE on the matter, a man doesn't, THAT is fucked up.

BTW, just because my outlook is grimier than yours doesn't make it childish, hell childish tends to be puppy dogs and rainbows, not ruined lives and proper responsibility.

Oh, one more thing, if it takes two to make a baby, why does only one of them have the right to unmake it?

first off, I don't have any kids. second off, there's a big difference between helping foster children and taking care of your own damn child, to make sure it doesn't end up in foster care.
to make sure it doesn't grow up thinking its parents didn't want it.
you're showing your true colors right now, so this is where I end this conversation.
you've got a lot of growing up to do.

Seriously, "protect the poor little children."... Bitch, I don't see you lifting one fucking finger for the kids already stuck in foster care, why the hell should i give you money for that one brat you popped out. With that argument you either expect me to start paying child support for every abandoned kid in the world, or you find something special about this particular one. Considering in both cases I don't get a choice it can't be my own desire, oh wait... I know, this one's special because I have some biological component in here... huh, you know, that changes... nothing! Yea, I went out and had a good time, that good time has lead to something I don't want. What, you think I should have to pay for this for damn near 19 years?! Fuck no! "Think of the children," bah! How about this, how about the ones who actually think these women need that financial support pay it. If I don't get a say in it, I don't want to pay for it.

Kinda reminds me of those tourist scams where someone forces there services on you and then demands payment, fuck no, if I didn't ask for this don't make me pay it! Though seriously, you say "fuck you" to the father because "think of the child" so that when that child grows up you can say "fuck you" to it too?! No, you either coddle everyone or you say fuck you to everyone, OR you say "shit man, your life you choose." You wanna know a secret? That last one is actually the closest to equality you're getting, else wise you're looking at equity, and with equity the scale is still fucked up.

Here are the steps to equality:
1) Pull head from ass
2) Lower nose
3) Let everyone make their own choices
4) Have only those in favor of a choice pay for it
5) Don't bitch about the consequences of your choice
6) Don't expect someone else to pay for your choice

Done! That's it. In this case, Man signs paper disowning every right and responsibility to the child. If she keeps it she knows she is accepting ALL responsibility for it.

she gets more outs, because she's the one who faces more problems, in terms of finances and health, than he does.

pregnancy costs money
hospital stays cost money
healthy food (for 2) costs money
doctor visits cost money
ultrasounds cost money
prenatal pills cost money
new clothes as you grow costs a good amount of money
men are never held responsible for these things, if they want no part in the child's life.

then there are the physical problems that women face
stretch marks, tearing vaginally, constantly having to pee, morning sickness, braxton hicks, the actual delivery

shit isn't some easy thing for women.
men bust a nut, can bail on the girl if he wants
doesn't even have to see the kid, he just has to be responsible financially for half of the child that they created. if he wants to pay less child support, he can be in the child's life.
the ONLY reason there are things like safe places to abandon a child, is for the child's safety. it's not in favor of women. it's to avoid children literally being abandoned in dumpsters or on doorsteps.
User avatar #239 - kousei (07/24/2014) [-]
let me pose my view a different way. There are 4 possible combinations relating to the accidental conception of a child:
1) The mother and father want to keep it
2) The mother and father want to get rid of it
3) The father wants to keep it the mother does not
4) The mother wants to keep it the father does not

Now in 1 and 2 there is no fuss, no muss, the parents agree. The problem comes in on number 3 and 4 so let's delve deeper into what you want out of these.

Case 3 the mother can, without consulting the father, go out and get an abortion. Significantly cheaper than the entire process of carrying the child to term, the father has no say in this and to be honest I am fine with this solely due to the physical ailments she would have to face.

Case 4 however, the mother gets to keep the child, again without consulting the father, again I'm fine with this if she wants that responsibility. Where I come up with an issue is when you demand financial support from a father that would have aborted the child if he had the option, yet executive decision on this child's life is held by the mother alone.

I believe this rather relates to the founding of the United States, "No taxation without representation." If he has no choice on whether or not the child is carried to term why should the father be held financially responsible for it? This doesn't make sense, do you charge a construction worker for a house he helped build? Yes his part is in that house, but whoever buys it takes on full responsibility. Same thing with a kid, if I didn't want a child I should not be forced to provide anything to it simply because someone else did. You want the brat, take on ALL the responsibility.

Obviously, yeah. "Batman would win because he´s Batman" is a shit argument. Even if he would, it would still be a shit argument.
And people keep (same with wolverine) making Superman look like pure brawns. The guy is incredibly intelligent himself, a gifted tactician, etc, etc.
Superman is not only stronger, he is better in every aspect.

That´s bullshit, too. Tony Stark has been shown to be able to overcome even motherfucking Magnetos magnetic Powers. He´s also at the very least as intelligent, gifted and educated as Batman. Probably (99%) even moreso.
And if you think a magnet is enough to destroy Wolverine, you don´t know too much about the character, either.

User avatar #47 - kousei (06/24/2014) [-]
Gonna skip to the end first. I never said a magnet would destroy Wolverine, just beat him.

Back to the top. That is my exact point, Superman is flawless. Batman has his flaws, his bad moments, his mistakes but the only time Superman loses is to a straight up stronger opponent. I'm pretty much hearing a mirror argument in favor of Superman, "Superman would win because he's Superman."

Seriously though, if you find a cut-off point for the plot armor and pit the two against each other it's more of a toss-up then people will admit. Superman may be stronger, faster, etc. but Batman (even assuming he isn't as smart as Superman) has a plan to take down Superman, it all depends on the conditions of this match.

For the Wayne vs Stark I would like to point out that there is a difference between intelligence and cunning. Sure, I'll give you that Stark is easily smarter than Wayne, but Wayne thinks faster on his feet and finds those miniscule details. Another toss up in their armor, but take them outa their suits and Wayne wins, hands down. Unless it's an engineering or science exam, but i was pretty sure we were talking about fisty-cuffs
