However, talking to my friend from South Africa people are shot daily in their houses due to intruder. For example my friend's grandma was held at gunpoint in her house and then raped to death. The intruders came in, beat the 76 year old woman and then proceeded to raid her house, watch TV and rape her for 3 days. My friend wasn't at all surprised when Mr. Pistorius claimed to have acted in fear. Many people would've reacted in the same way and we really can't be sure what his true motives were without harder evidence.
