bazda (06/16/2013) [-] Glancing shot, MAYBE. And that's a BIG fucking maybe. Direct shot, you're a dead man. Unless the bad guy is unlucky enough to get a squib. Check this related video out. www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUM1r_444CY #203 -
kmichel (06/17/2013) [-] You'd really be surprised man. This is an older link, but it talks about a 9mm that bounces off a man's forehead from a direct hit. If you're shot in the eyes, the temple, or the back of the head, the chances of it not penetrating are probably 1 in a million (or even less than that). The forehead is really hard though, especially the area right above it. I agree that in this story it is probably a fragment from an AK-47 round though. www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2009/01/11/man-survives-9mm-head-shot/ The consensus among a lot of gun experts is not to go for a head shot because low powered rounds can bounce right off. However, it's rare enough to make the news. | ||

N. Korean citizen (06/16/2013) [-] For your information filthy casual russian military no longer uses ak 47s they use ak74s which use 5.45mm caliber rounds which are weaker then nato 5.56mm check the internets if you dont believe me. #39 -
kmichel (06/16/2013) [-] There seem to be a lot of stories out there with different information, once I searched for it again. The story that I read said that it was a .22 rimfire that got him, but it could be a fragment. You're not likely to survive a direct shot to the head with a .22, but it's definitely possible. Sometimes a 9 mm will also bounce off your skull. #40 -
