Mostly because a lot of people consider him and the band "emo" and call him a fag because he was a wild and crazy when he was younger. I'll bet those that mock and make fun of him couldn't name a single song nor know why the band was started.

The look and some of the things the singer wrote about; personal experiences and the like. The band actually loathes the term emo and calls it bullshit.
