Apple, until relatively recently in history, was actually a catch-all term for fruits, much like the word berry.

Apart from making apples very difficult to pinpoint in their introduction to the British Isles, this has the added confusion of making anything with an apple in the name somewhat of a puzzle to the modern person.

tl:dr; Apple used to mean pretty much all fruit. Pineapple = Pine fruit.

but they cant complain and try to get us to change what we're doing if they dont have a currently viable counterpoint. sure, in 10 or 20 years we might be able to maybe scale back our usage, but right now there is literally nothing besides natural gas or nuclear thats feasible

dont mean to be a "hippy" but get your facts straight. do you have any idea how much energy the sun emits? the big square in the picture represents the area of solar panels required to power the world.
User avatar #107 - dorfdorfdorf (13 hours ago) [-]
how exactly do you plan to build 62500 square kilometers of solar panels?
User avatar #112 - mcbee (12 hours ago) [-]
Oh so I'm the project manager now? I'm saying the energy is there. just like the energy is is in the ground right now and they've managed to go get that no problem. it's much more profitable to sell energy that's hard to find, hard to extract and which you can control the supply/price. and they got all convinced that solar energy is not a feasible alternative because how do you control the price of solar energy when it is literaly falling from the sky?
User avatar #51 - klick (18 hours ago) [-]
No, I agree with you. However, we've made some MAJOR strides, and I'm exicted to see what could be possible in 10 or 20 years. Like roads covered in solar panels

Hey there, sorry to bother you, but I have a quick question: I see you don't play the items game (well, you only have a few items, so I assumed so anyway) and quite honestly, neither do I. Not anymore, not for a while. But every time I accumulate a chunk of points, I go back to the board and just give them away to random people. If I asked very politely, could I have your points to distribute through the board, and give credit to you?
User avatar #8 to #7 - klick (03/20/2014) [-]
sure. Problem is I havn't really payed much attention to the game and really have no idea how to send you the items.

Sweet! I'll set it up. Is your name notification on? Because when I set it up, I'll mention you so you get the love from the board you deserve. Cool with you?
