kingpongthedon (04/19/2015) [-] I know what you're talking about, but they aren't really the same level of domestication as dogs and cats or even things like pigs, horses, cows, etc. They're still incredibly aggressive. They're solitary animals by nature and don't get along well with others. They've only been bred for about 50 years or so, nothing compared to the ten thousand years associated with the domestication of other animals that are much more prone to associate with us. Progress has been made, but not nearly enough for somebody to go to the pound and pick up a pet fox any time in the near future. | ||

I don't think that your average robber/hoodlum/urban youth would want to commit a robbery in a community they know is generally armed, because there will be SOME resistance. Also, I agree a gun wouldn't be much help in a mugging (assuming the guy mugging you isn't some incompetent fuck) but in a home invasion, I think it'd be more than helpful especially since you can get the drop on them. Plus, I think most people would want a gun more for situations where someone is actively trying to kill them, right? | ||
