superbluesixtynick (12/18/2015) [-] So just in the way that the police-police police the police, the secondary politicians police the politicians? Who elects them/ keeps them in line? The tertiary politicians? Also, the gov't spends too much anyway. A better system would be if the people had the ability to directly boot their politicians from the office with a vote or something. Also an option. A better one, thinking about it. But alternatives are secondary atm...what we can agree on, I think, is, that the current system is everything else but ideal...

superbluesixtynick (12/18/2015) [-] Yes, yes, but how would it work? I mean, who would force politicians too keep their promises? And who would pay for their campaigns? "Paying a campaign" should not be a thing. Politicians shouldn't have sponsors, but the election itself should be sponsored by the governmental fund. Not a big thing, if you have billions to give to banks, imo. And you know, being in charge of a nation should imply at least some reliability. Keeping your word as good as you can in such an office. You could say I am an idealist about when it comes to this topic, but we have also institutions who watch the politicians' actions...even though those institutions are also corrupted, or the source of the problem. #31 -

superbluesixtynick (12/18/2015) [-] I agree with the first part of your comment, but what is a "REAL democracy" by your definition? A democracy in which the politicians are not mere marionetts/members of the economy and actually stick to the promises they made during election. #27 -

animesource (12/18/2015) [-] Well, if civilians try to pull off some shit EU will end up crashing, because Germany sustains most of it. On other hand it'll crash either way, it'll just take a bit longer and will slowly drag down all nations with it.
