yeah it's in good humour. Patriotism? if i were to make a list of everything i believe my country does better than america, it'd be 3 times the length. and like is stated in the post, patriotism is very frowned upon in germany, so yeah.

admitting bias means he recognizes the fact that his opinion will be skewed because of his personal knowledge differing in both areas and relying on the knowledge imparted to him second hand. This is Funnyjunk, you don't need to fucking do a research on google to post content here. It was funny, and I learned quite a few things bout my german neighbors.

whats funny here is that you saw a post that:
A. admitted it was biased in the opening lines
B. was written by someone who's never been to America and said so in the opening lines
C. was in good humour
and finally D. was a bunch of anecdotes

and your response was basically "NO! 'MURICA! 'MURICA IS BEST! NYA"

Y'know what, I'm not gonna get mad at you 'cause I accidentally deleted my original comment but it addressed all those points.
A. Admitting bias does not make an excuse for biased view points. If anything, recognizing one's own bias should deter said individual from making biased statements. So that's on OP.
B. You don't have to visit whatever nation to understand things stated in the original post.
C. No, it really wasn't. Though in the guise of 'good humor', it's butthurt and patriotism dressed up to seem that way.
Not even going to address that.
Oh, and I hate America. I'm actually originally from Korea, so good on you for making the assumption that I think 'Murrica is the best -- it really isn't.

If I wanted to make Germany sound technologically superior I would have gone with our cars, because that's about it that we do good over here. Not the populations choice on windows. I posted these examples because that stood out for people visiting this American high tech nation

In hindsight, this post epitomizes the ignorance and patriotic behavior that it berates.
Ironic.

I don't see how you get from "Americans buy cheap washing machines and have weird plugs" to Germany vs USA as consumers of electronics. Correct me, but I just don't see it? And of course its generalizing, its a bunch of anecdotes, I didn't to a survey here. This is funnyjunk, not the Financial Times.
I genuinely don't get the anger here, I invite others to weigh in if they can.

Wow, shit. I accidentally deleted my comment but regardless.
It's the insinuation the original post makes as to how Germany is technologically superior to America.
Just 'cause it's posted on Funnyjunk and not some Forbes forum doesn't give ignorance any more leeway than anywhere else -- which should be next to none.
It's the misuse of information and knowledge, the single viewpoint of the post. It's despicable.
'I didn't do a survey here', well you don't have to 'cause several other research groups have already done so and posted the research and results.
www.google.com/ <---- that might help you.
The mention of GDP and electronics consumer groups was in an effort to maybe inform you of how ignorant and wrong your views are, but it's okay, everyone's entitled to their own opinion regardless of how uninformed it might be.

I liked G Gundam. And the new series Gundam Build Fighters is pretty cool. Pic is from Gundam Build Fighters.
