I think you're a little bit confused..

Fiction relates to the genre fantasy, or in other words, not true, or real. Now elements of said Fiction can be real, or existent, but that would fall under "non-fiction" as you said.

Zombies, or zombie-like creatures do not exist, but there are rumors and such suggesting the possibility of said creature, which would then place this "debate" into the Science-fiction section of tales, or what have you.

So you would've said correctly, "Though your point is valid, this is a debate of (either) Science-fiction. (or) simply Fiction."

Even though I agree with you, I wouldn't say life is meaningless. I think that we put meaning into our lives.

I agree that everyone needs to find some type of meaning into their lives. I mean if we didn't life would be to depressing to live. But when your meaning of life revolves around hate, or killing others than I don't support it. I just feel sorry for people that live their life like that.

The problem with extremist's besides that fact that they're crazy. Is the fact that they carry the title of whatever religion that they consider themselves in. It gives everyone in that religion or group a bad name. Like consider Al-Qaeda out of a billion Muslims that live in the world, how many would you think actually supports Al-Qaeda? Only a small fraction does.
User avatar #75 - nichsell (05/05/2012) [-]
This just shows that a religion that has peace and love in it has a good intentions but is ruined when you have extremist's in the group.

im a christian and in my religion we define our set of morals on the belief that everyone sins and that everyone messes up but all we have to do is accept christ and his forgiveness. yes there are violent things in the bible. but a fair amount of it is disregarded in the new testament. and the bible doesnt say to be violent it says to love everyone.
User avatar #394 - nichsell (05/06/2012) [-]
Unfortunately people want to disregard that last part about loving everyone. :P Even though I don't believe in the bible, I do believe in some of the teachings of Jesus that includes accepting everyone and loving and treating everyone the same.

i guess your right on that one but a lot of things were changed too. for example, the differences between christians and jews.

i have read the bible cover to cover and it does promote a lot of violence but its general against the 'enemy' being defined loosely and the majority occurs in the old testament as i said before. and i find the parts that most promotes loving your fellow man occurs when jesus is around. for example when he was being crucified and he told his disciples to stand down because the guards were following orders

and according to my religion you dont have to accept God as a creator. also according to my religion you would go to hell. i however believe faith isnt the deciding factor because there are good people who dont believe and some people who never get a chance to believe. i believe personally that there are people who dont accept christianity but i think if even though they dont believe they at least try to be positive to others theyll be fine.
User avatar #207 - nichsell (05/06/2012) [-]
Well most religious people believe that not everything is meant to be taken literally now-a-days. If it was, we would literally have a billion Muslim's and a Billion Christians, and (add random number and group here) fighting each other, it would be total chaos.

While I get what you mean, but aren't you glad that religious people aren't taking their books seriously? If you take it literally than it's a book(s) of evil, if you don't than it's a teaching total(if you cherry pick the lessons).

Well I'm an Agnostic-Atheist, so please don't categorize me as an extremists or lunatic, but everyone has their own beliefs that might differ slightly from the main body. If everyone did this than they would need their own name for their beliefs which means there probably would be hundreds of thousands of religions. It's just easier to categorize them with one dominate religion or faith that follows a head figure.

While most religions don't have a clean history, it doesn't mean that religion is bad or the some of the followers, but the leaders of that religion and some of the easy to manipulate followers are bad for committing such atrocities. It doesn't mean that all are bad.
