Well, there's Gorod, Barren Earth, Myrath isn't really that metal sounding when it comes to vocals but I like them. On top of that there's Wolves in the Throne Room. Other than that I can only really state the obvious ones such as the Deathstars, Amon Amarth, and the other generic "Not quite hardcore enough" bands.

Ha! Funny story about that. I bought "Embryonic Anomaly" in like, July 2010 because why the hell not. I was actually enjoying it until I actually got to the song "Embryonic Anomaly", and then I just couldn't take it anymore. It was hard for me to even hear what he was saying in the first five songs, and when I heard what he was singing in that one I nope'd out and gave the CD to someone else, lol. Too intense for me..!

You think you can understand vocals until you listen to Chelsea Grin and Rings of Saturn... Then you cry and keep trying.

I actually hadn't heard of Job for a Cowboy, but I went and listened to that song "Embedded" and understood what you meant about 30 seconds in. It sounds more like his voice cracking than actual squealing, lmao... "Thy Art is Murder", I think. I don't even like their lyrics to be honest. I mean Reign of Darkness is okay, but other than that I kind of dislike their music.

I think their song lyrics are good. I don't like Austin Carlile's voice though. If it were deeper I would like them. I actually don't have any of their songs owned OR downloaded.
