Haha you should check out the whole Top Gear video, Jeremy shows you a neat trick to steal a Nova, just pop out the hazard ligth switch, and put it in upside down, and the ignition turns on

My moms gonna give me her 2001 Chevy Malibu v6. The a/c is fucked and the undercarriage is starting to rot, and the intake manifold is leaking coolant like a faucet, and its beige on beige cloth, and the brakes are garbage.... and the ignition needs to be replaced because of a recall. But its a car, so lifes good. The heater and the radio work I guess. I gonna trade it for an EK hatch as soon as I can. If not junk it for down payment cash.

That's garbage compared to what I got.

Honestly, the only thing the car I got needs is a tire replaced, a CV replaced, some interior work done (has some missing screws) a really good wash and detail, and that's really it.

Its really just to get from point a to point b without taking public transit because fuck that shit. Its just a placeholder really. i may get a hawkeye Impreza but until I've got the bank for it, I'm stuck with the strugglemobile. Maybe I'll stance it out and put a straight pipe on it.

Man, believe me, I know how you feel. That's the exact reason why I want a car. I mean, I could drive it without a license, but what would happen if I got caught is never worth it.

An Impreza? Damn, those are pretty nice, and pricey. Just a regular base model, or you going for the full WRX STI?

Maybe a WRX. An STI is 14k and up. If I had that kind of cash, I wouldn't be pushing a Malibu. My dad lets me drive his Honda Pilot though. Which is nice.

That Nova I bought is probably the only thing I'll drive for a while.
My grandma seriously thinks I'll be able to get a really really good car for 2K Euro.
A broken down smashed 80's BMW sells more for that, let alone a mint car.

And I told her. No American cars, no French cars, no German cars. Just Japanese.
No Honda though. Turbo Diesel is a must.

She won't find one.

Same here. Insurance in my area is among the highest in North America. A shitbox 93 Civic will usually cost a young driver 7-8 grand CAD to insure. Even if got it for 1k, it usually cost 5-6 more to insure a honda/acura 2 or 3 door. Especially if you're under 25 and single.

It;s like, 250 Euro a year to insure here. And maybe 150 license.
If the car falls under vintage, it's about 150 to insure and 8 euro to license.

(prices always depend on the car, of course. Mainly engine size.)
