I linked to several other sources for this story in a previous comment. I don't believe anything I read on the daily mail without checking around, but sometimes daily mail isn't a tabloid but rather will print true stories that don't fit the narrative of major media.

No, what the fuck is wrong with you? This is an effect of feminism due to the lobbying and legislative effect feminism has had on this country. I'm not suggesting that feminist endorse this woman's behavior, or that feminists are like this woman. I'm saying this situation was made possible by the effect they have had on the legal system.

Again, for the millionth time, this is an EFFECT of feminism. Had the feminist lobby not pushed for the alterations to the law regarding rape that allow for people to be charged and pass grand jury investigations for rape cases with little to no evidence, this could never have taken place. I'm not saying this is "feminism" I'm saying it's an effect that feminism has had.

unless the 'effect of feminism' you're blaming is that annoying little habit of rape victims actually reporting the crime committed against them in hope of getting some sort of justice, which is an extremely low conviction rate. Other than the fact they're females, you're poisoning the view of 'feminism' classing them as crazy women crying wolf when this sort of case is so rare they've reported a full news story on it, i'm not saying this woman could not have been more wrong, but you have to realise labels like this only makes it harder for women, whether intentionally or not.

Raising our kids better will HELP with that, but it will never not be an option. We teach our kids not to kill, and most people aren't going to murder. But there will always be some people who are going to do that shit, that is what prisons are for.

User avatar #231 - tinglyturtletaint (09/07/2013) [-]
A car hitting a kid is not inevitable. The person driving the car is at fault, but, it could also be prevented by the child being more aware. Educate BOTH sides. You can educate idiots that don't have the common sense to understand that unless there is a yes, it is no. And this may lessen the amount of rapes. But this isn't going to stop the people who know what they are doing is wrong. For those cases it can be prevented by women being more aware. "Hey ladies, if your going to dress provocatively, that's your right. Just understand that this makes you more of a target, so be more careful. If your raped because of this it isn't your fault, yes the provocative clothing might have drew them in, yes maybe you should have been more careful, but the person was still in the wrong. The argument is that when people try to say things like this, they automatically get accused of victim blaming, even if they are just pointing out ways it could be avoided in the future. If I was a rich white man wearing a 4000 dollar suit, it would be unwise of me to not remain vigilant as to not get mugged and be aware that it makes me more of a target.
#317 - demorgorgon (11/06/2013) [-]
Exactly dressing slutty makes you more of a target because high heals make you slower and mini skirts and thongs can be removed in seconds as a pose to removing jeans or even jogging bottoms this is whilst the women is struggling. Dress how you want but always stay near friends and whenever possible always try to have a guy with you. This will deter most single rapists it may sound sexiest but rapist are more hesitant to attack a group or have a guy friend with you.
User avatar #318 - tinglyturtletaint (11/07/2013) [-]
Yeah it "sounds" sexist. But that's why a lot of femenist shit is annoying. This isn't like race where it's just the color of the skin or minor facial details that differ. Men and women, and how things should be handled by both of them will always be different because we are different mentally and physically to some extent. It's kind of like the whole barber issue a while back, the one time the race argument had a similar issue. Lots of barbers had signs up saying "we don't do black hair." This was after segregation and it was not a racist thing, it was because black hair is physically different and a lot of white barbers had no idea whatsoever how to deal with it.
User avatar #266 - kickthecokemachine (09/07/2013) [-]
I completely agree with that, I just think it's sad we seem to put more effort into drilling into women or men what they shouldn't do so they hopefully don't get raped, rather than bringing people up so that forced sex just isn't an option, I know it's not that easy, I just thought this content was just so uneducated

Walking round town and listening to conversations has a similar effect to watching Hollyoaks, you can FEEL the IQ points dripping out of your ears. They probably disappeared with the rest of that excuse of a fountain.
