Well, reading them helps.

Knowing about the history and goals of the 3rd Reich gives you even more.

Also, sorry for doublepost again, but look at my statement

"Regular nazi soldiers were actually pretty proud of killing civilians and helping the Reich "

And I proved it beyond doubt.

Also "have nothing to do with regular German soldier being or not being Nazis" is purely wrong on logical level- they all belonged to Nazi army.
#263 - khassar (10/14/2014) [-]
They didn't hold all the ideas that were held by the majority of SS, that's what I meant by them being Nazis. They all served in the Nazi army, that is true.

I will repeat, they did bad things, but not because they held the same worldview as the SS.

I never said that others are saints.

But defending the rest of the Nazis because "only SS did bad things to citizens and regular Wehrmacht forces did not" is pure ignorance.
User avatar #291 - jdrinfantry (10/14/2014) [-]
Probably the most sense you've made all day. The German population was just too oblivious to the death camps and kidnapping of jews and gypsies. Through propaganda Hitler and the SS filled the Germans with hatred towards a minority and in a belief that these death camps were more like labour camps, they somewhat agreed on it. Also getting an invitation to join the ranks of the SS contained a lot of prestige for the german youth.
User avatar #309 - bestfoxgirl (10/14/2014) [-]
But of course, this is pretty much common knowledge at this point. Moreover, German population was quite aware of what was going on, only that not everyone knew it for sure.

ps. you can cease with your hostile tone now
User avatar #311 - jdrinfantry (10/14/2014) [-]
I didn't mean to be hostile. Sorry
User avatar #409 - bestfoxgirl (10/15/2014) [-]
Well you did give an impression of being against me the last couple of times we talked, and now you started with "Probably the most sense you've made all day" so I assumed you're one of the guys that hold a grudge for no reason
User avatar #413 - jdrinfantry (10/15/2014) [-]
I don't hold a grudge, I just thought it was nice to see you make some sense for once. Every other time we've talked I've been disagreeing with you so hard that I never thought I could agree with you. Guess I was wrong.
User avatar #415 - bestfoxgirl (10/15/2014) [-]
Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. I always make sense and I provide some more complex stuff, so saying "for once" is kinda offensive
User avatar #418 - jdrinfantry (10/15/2014) [-]
My bad. I hope we'll be more in agreement in the future. Keep it up

I could say the same thing about Superman. Superman's perseverance is indomitable, he represents the idea that the world and its people are meant to be good, that the universe wants to be good, but suffers from perversion and ignorance and other hindrances, but believes that these afflictions can be cured. But everyone just sees him as the 'most powerful' and that seemed to create this idea that he would dare to take over the world when he never would. If they can turn superman into the bad guy, then they should have turned Batman into the bad guy ten times by now.
