I was going to post a single article, but I found too many, so just search "statistics of rape in us military."

True, many are internal (rape committed on Americans by Americans), but if there are enough people as immoral as that in our military, why would they not rape those they consider the enemy?

Just remember future member of the America Can Do No Wrong party. Each and every US solider has the morality of Captain America.

"True, many are internal (rape committed on Americans by Americans), but if there are enough people as immoral as that in our military, why would they not rape those they consider the enemy? "

As I said above, the military isn't about to admit to wrong-doing. If you will rape an ally, why not rape an enemy? You can get more solid stats on American troops because they can live and tell a psychiatrist. But if some soldiers decided to corner and rape a civilian, no one is every going to find out (especially since rape could result in stoning of the victim in Afghanistan even if she was left alive).

I can't remember the proper names to find an example at the moment, but the military justice system (tribunals) exists to cover things up and allow soldiers to get off easy for horrific crimes.

Thats why you shouldnt fight a war on multiple fronts! Certainly not when you have bad intel.

You seriously think that, among the thousands of civilians killed in the invasion of Afghanistan, none were women? Ridiculous.

And given the attitude of so many American soldiers like our good friend Dash up there, I have no doubt that Afghan women have been raped by US soldiers.
#57 - katypower (03/21/2013) [-]
So....Following what you're saying...
The Talibans, Who murdered women and raped them Hourly... Are better then a few american troops....
But the REAL question is:
Where is your proof?
Mine's is just common Military Doctrine.
#60 - kerplunking (03/21/2013) [-]
Where did I say the Taliban are better than US troops? You're straw-manning me.

I exagerated,, But you get the point. Now. Proof of rape... Now.

Accused. Was it proven?
#85 - kerplunking (03/21/2013) [-]
The US military would never allow it to be "proven" whether it happened or not. It would look very bad on them.

User avatar #71 - katypower (03/21/2013) [-]
I just googled it...And almost every one talks about _Female__Soldiers_.
Not citizens.

Oh, here it is, the My Lai massacre.
[url deleted]
In case the url is deletes, wikipedia "my lai massacre" or just "United States war crimes" for a more general look.

And true, I can't give you a hundred individual cases because they are covered up. Look at the WWII section of the war crimes page,
"Secret wartime files made public only in 2006 reveal that American GIs committed 400 sexual offences in Europe"
2006, it took over 40 years for us to have solid evidence.

Maybe I should have said geometry.
