"Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil." - Matthew 5:17
For reference, the Law is the first 5 books of the bible and, more importantly, the rules contained therein. Christianity is bound by the words of it's god.

Yes, because that's why Chistendom threw out all of Leviticus. Do Christians still stone people to death for wearing cloths cut of two fabrics? If so I hope your cotton/nylon blend was worth it.
The first 5 books are the Old Testament, the "Law" are considered only to be Exodus (For the Ten Commandments and the story of Mt. Sini) and Leviticus, covering the whole of the 316 commandments.

Jesus came to fulfill the terms of the law, much like he came to fulfill man's sin. His sacrifice means we are no longer bound by the old terms. You quoted the exact line he says this in.
User avatar #38 - tywin (11/24/2013) [-]
He says it will be fulfilled when "heaven and earth pass". That has not been fulfilled, to the best of my knowledge.

What do you do if it rains whilst he's out?
User avatar #88 - kaslin (11/13/2013) [-]
If he doesn't get his leash wrapped around the bird feeder he'll either go to the top of the stairs to the deck (which is covered) or under the bush in the yard which he and my other dog dug a fox hole. He stays dry, most of the time, and we're pretty good at not leaving him outside if its going to rain. It he does get soaked we try our best to dry him with towels and a blow drier.

I've always wanted a woolly sibe, they're really hard to find here. Yours is just absolutely gorgeous, I've got four husky mixes myself.
I've heard about how difficult woollies are to get dry, though - I've heard mushers generally won't even include them in their teams because the extra fur can pose such a problem, rather than an asset.
In return, here's Yukon, a woolly giant alaskan malamute / gray wolf hybrid - not mine, but he's my puppy's great-grandfather. c:

I adore huskies, but I hear you shouldn't own them if you live in a place that ever gets really warm. Also they have so much energy that if you dont exercise them like crazy they can get dangerous. Is there any truth to that?
User avatar #89 - kaslin (11/13/2013) [-]
Niechie gets about 6 15-30 minute walks a day plus 2-4 hours at the dog park every day of the weekend. They're really pack dogs and need other dogs around them or they get destructive. I've talked to a lot of other husky owners at dog parks and they all say the same thing: If you have a husky, get another dog to keep it company.
As for heat he'll find the coolest spot in the house during the warmer months (Generally the doorway between the dining room and the hall leading to the bed rooms in the back of the house where all the AC cross-ventilate) and he'll drink tons of water, probably 3-6 big bowls (2 liters each) of water a day. I can't wait for it to snow so I can get some pictures of him in his favorite weather.

Yes and no. The temperatures matter less than how you will be housing your husky - obviously, if you intend to leave them neglected outside in the heat, then yes; warm climates are terrible for them - that's a long, slow death sentence.

However, If they have access to an air conditioned home - or at the very least, plentiful shade, cool water and maybe a fan or a misting system if they have to be outdoors when it's warm, they typically do just fine.

Please do not ever consider shaving one except as an absolute last resort, however - huskies have thick, protective coats which keep their sensitive skin safe from not only extreme cold, but from the sun as well.
Shaving promotes severe sunburns and skin infections which can be much, much more problematic than getting a bit warm. If heatstroke is ever a problem, you're probably not providing your dog with proper shelter.

As an alternative, a lesser-known variety of the Siberian Husky is the short-coated variety that can be just as beautiful as their Standard or Woolly cousins; they have flatter, smoother coats which are most often found in Urban Mushing and other Working lines.
This is my short-haired husky, Taylo - her mother is from Sprint Racing lines.

Kind of, I have a husky and I live in Australia so the summers can get quite hot. I have my husky clipped in the warmer months so his fur doesn't overheat him. My husky does have a lot of energy but I walk him for an hour every morning before work and that tires him out.
User avatar #53 - Dember (11/13/2013) [-]
It's usually best to never shave them except in emergencies, such as if the dog has come down with heat stroke - which typically happens due to negligence and poor housing for the animal more so than anything else.
They have really sensitive skin, so shaving and clipping (anything that removes even just the top layer of the protective guard hairs) can cause harsh sunburns and skin infections.

I have four Siberians and they all do just fine even in our 110 degree California summers - but that's because I keep them indoors with the AC on where it's cool, and they have plenty of shade, cool water and a fan for when they need to go outside on those days.

What I've found works great to keep them exercised even in the heat is training them to use a treadmill - it's not as stimulating as a long walk or run, but when it's so hot outside that their paw pads would bake off their feet, it's a pretty nice option and mine really like it.

Yeah, you can totally taze someone through a bloody windshield. He was still trying to ram the police in the truck when they opened fire. Seriously, read the comments and look at the video.
User avatar #383 - kaslin (11/09/2013) [-]
Hey, get your head out of your fourth point of contact. I was making a semi-informed comment so no reason for you to get your panties in a bunch. As far as I knew the kid had gotten out of the car before getting shot.
User avatar #262 - lolollo (11/08/2013) [-]
A car can be counted as a deadly weapon if someone is using it as a deadly weapon, as was the case with the kid.

If people are going to go on the grounds of "Well it's not LITERALLY a weapon!" then criminals will start MacGrubering their own shit to claim police brutality and get away with everything.
User avatar #266 - kaslin (11/08/2013) [-]
Hey, as long as they followed their ROE, it doesn't matter whether or not the truck was a weapon or not if they went through the steps to get to the Lethal Force part, the kid deserved it.
The dad probably feels like shit, he probably didn't expect it to go that far.
