zeromos (05/20/2013) [-] simple , kurt cobain was the voice of generation x , he gave meaning to a whole generation of people from the 90's , he created grunge , his music was a punch of emotion , was everything , heavy metal from the 80's wasnt , thats why bands like guns n' roses , metallica and etc hated nirvana , Alice in chains and grunge in general, You mention alot of important people to the Rock/Metal gerne, but people like john lennon and kurt cobain will always be the greatest , cause they revolutionized generations and made music from the heart , thats why kurt cobain was so important , he cared about the music not about the money , which just about 99% of bands were after , he hated how mainstream nirvana had gone which is why he started using the grunge is dead t shrits , and finally he used heroin because doctors have found that he had some sort of weird cancer in his stomach which they could not treat , his life was rough just listen to Something in the way , his started using heroin cause of that pain in his stomach , he hated using it and he reached a point were he could not go on anymore , i dont ask you to justify him , just understand him, listen to his music and you will eventually change the way you think of him, he was and always will be a legend and deserves it , he made music better , never soldout and keep in mind i like heavy stuff alot but soft music like nirvanas was the best to the point it inspired many bands like Seether,Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin etc, hope you understand and good day #165

cierrayooo (05/19/2013) [-] The dominant generation that inhabits the internet is also the generation that most fondly remembers the death of Kurt Cobain. They may not have been old enough to experience the death of Vaughan, or Skynyrd, or Rhoads, but they did to Kurt, and Kurt changed so much for so many people in their time, and that's why he's burnt so heavily into their minds. I'm not saying he's better or worse than any of them, I'm not even going there, but I think Rhoads was a much greater loss than Kurt, even though I grieve Kurt's death much harder, as his music had a stronger impact on me. All in all, the recognition he gained was again, just how he got famous, the right place, right time. He killed himself right as the correct generation was getting older, and that generation is mainly the prevalent one here. #153

N. Korean citizen (05/19/2013) [-] because he's more famous to most young-ish people than they are He killed himself because he had terrible stomach pains which he could only calm with his increasing heroin addiction, and he hated himself while being on heroin which happend to be most of the time. He hated being famous because he was very controversial and he couldn't have his privacy and didn't want his daughter to loose her private life. He loved courtney and he hated himself for loving her in spite of all the shit she pulled, he almost had her sent to an institution several times because she would use drugs during pregnancy and lactating stage. He felt he was a burden for those that really loved him, because of his drug addiction and courtney. and last but not least he was completly high he had twice and half the ammount of heroin someone his size could handle in his body, his long history with the drug made him more ressilient (sp?) to it, also it kept increasing to stop the stomach pain which he blamed his mother for as it started when he was very young because she stressed him so fucking much being a shitty mother. #151

N. Korean citizen (05/19/2013) [-] It's strange that you know exactly how he felt and even WHY he killed himself! While your argument is very valid and nice, kurt cobain receive that attention because his music was touching to his fan, and the media overblew it since they love suicide drama. But all the other artist get their share of love on their death from all the fans out there ! Except rappers 'cause they ain't artists ....
