Im not on anyones side here, i was just trying to explain the difference between the terms.

After george shat all over the franchise, a movie like this was necessary. Notice how every reference, every little tie in and in joke was from 4 5 and 6. And how there was a distinct lack of gungans, pointless cgi, and not a single line about how someone hated sand?
They are just trying to reassure the fans, and let them know that none of that shit is gonna fly any more.

But she wasn't proficient at everything.

She is barely adequate with a lightsaber, the only reason ren lost to her is cause of what i said in my last comment. Wounded+scared(knows rei has more potential than him)+panicking (planet is fukin breaking)+not fully trained=less than amazing performance.

She is decent at salvaging. But not good enough to be on her bosses good side. If she brought him all the best stuff he would reward her, thus giving her incentive to get more good shit.

She is naturally gifted with flying, though her salvaging experience helped her a bit since she knows how the ships work from dismantling them.


She is a talented mechanic, again due to her salvaging experience.

She knows several different languages due to growing up in a trade hub.

She is horrendous with a blaster, remember her first fight with kylo ren? Out of like 15 shots he only had to block three, cause 12 shots missed him by several feet.

As for her use of the force? She tricked a brainwashed dumbass, grabbed a thing before someone else could grab it, and calmed down/focused a little.

She is not proficient with everything, not by a long shot.
