Pewdiepie and the Media
I feel exactly like you.
I'm just a little late to the game - didn't realize this until about six months ago when the lack of coverage on the podesta files showed a serious lack of objectivity in the media.
The Media was always full of shit, fear mongering propaganda pushing bastards.
The jail break is complete, the red pills cometh and your mind is free.
Welcome to Freedom.
Media don't have to do this.
And the reality isn't this bad.
The answer is: media is not independent any longer.
That's why it's full of shit.
As for the rest of the world, corruption, lies, even murders - shit like that has always, absolutely ALWAYS been a part of our world. Most of those things are in decline. Statistically. What has increased is the amount of reports we get about them, the general awareness, and access to information all around the globe.
So, summing it up:
It's not as bad as you think.
It really used to be much, MUCH worse.
But it's still bad, and mankind has a long way to go.
Assuming institutions ever had the intention of serving the individual is a misconception due to conformity or ignorance.
Shit is really this fuck. I feel disgusted with myself whenever I think about the times when I thought democrats were the good guys and that the media was the best representation of free speech. They're a bunch of animals and cowards that need to be put down.
Reporting has always been a sham. Here's an article about one of the more infamous moments in American press: a whole fucking war.
The important takeaway from this article if you don't feel like reading the whole thing is this quote: "You furnish the pictures and I'll furnish the war." The guy furnishing the pictures proceeded to illustrate (this is before cameras) burning ships and "secret weapons blueprints" while the the guy furnishing the war wrote a front page article about Spanish treachery, causing Americans to agitate for war. The captain of the sunken ship also lied that it was blown up by a Spanish mine to provoke an American response.
Yellow journalism has existed as long as the journalism industry has existed. You're not an edgelord, you're just kinda cynical. Not that being cynical about this isn't justified though.

Chile, that's rude.
He could actually be my dad
In fact, he was born in the same year as my dad
You cannot just mention some's age before 10 years of marriage. That's uncouth, Texas.
I realize this is a complete non-sequitur, but don't social security numbers in america show the birthdates?
The forman in denmark is DDMMYY-**** (uneven last digit for male - even for female).
I'm just assuming both social security numbers would be on the wedding certificate.
(in denmark we can see our spouse's and children's social security numbers when we log on our
(borger = citizen) - which is fortunate because I can never remember anyone's birthdays).
No, american social security cards don't have our birthdays printed onto it.(Yes, you do however, have to resistor birthday to obtain your card)
As for wedding certificates, I wouldn't know...
the only time when the media did its job properly was when there weren't multibillion dollar corporations that ended up buying all independent media outlets
since that time they just occasionally report on what's happening while keeping the owners interests as their number 1 priority
You're not an edgelord, it's just not a popular opinion. The moment you're even slightly critical of the media or your government, you're labelled as a conspiracy theorist. Just look at our own countries and how they report Islamic terrorism. Both our countries are in the highest state of emergency, both nobody even questions why the streets are filled with military. They just accept that this is how things are nowadays.
I think it's more "the moment you're even slightly critical of the media or your government..." and start talking about Moloch worship, a shadow government that controls everything, and Jew/Illuminati mega-conspiracies. THAT's when you're labelled a conspiracy theorist.
The president of South Korea herself said in a speech that she was being controlled by someone. You know that right? Why is that still a conspiracy?
Along with the almost silent reporting of how Russia is at war with Ukraine, a far greater threat than terrorism is, yet the European leaders speak nothing of it.
So silent is the case we forgot to mention it as a crises.
Just to make it clear.
Warning: Russia is invading a European country.
Depends how you look at.
If you look at it through russian lenses then the NATO-flirting with ukraine, the EU-membership teasing, the Soros backed riots against a democratically elected (albeit very corrupt) president, and the russian-friendly crimea sorta gave a casus belli for russia.
I don't approve of what russia did, but I can see where they are coming from. And I understand that the western hemisphere has been baiting russia for a while to either undercut the russian economical growth (and therefore influence) or simply just want an easily identifiable threat to justify producing weapons for good old-fashioned symmetric warfare.
