Agreed but most of our knowledge is anatomical. When do they become aware, responsive, being remembering? When -even roughly- can we consider tehm to be a full human? They have none of those qualities at fertilization, gastrulation or the second week, so when? Do you not agree we should find out roughly so we can advise lawmakers based on evidence and not arbitrary nonsense?

Our university gives 10% discount for books bought on campus, so they're slightly cheaper than the ones you buy online here. On amazon they're way cheaper, but not with the (international) shipping costs.

I am certain they have some damn good algorithms to calculate the maximum they can get students to pay, without cheaper alternatives. Including convincing you you're really really really going to need that particular book this semester, and then end up reading half a chapter.

I steal my books from the bookstore because fuck them.

Assuming you can use the previous edition. Sometimes newer editions change so much from the older ones, that you need the newer editions just to do the HW problems. I just rent them for about 30 bucks a pop.

ya I'm pretty sure I saved close to 2k in 4 years using half.com. best purchase ever: university bookstore was selling a bio 101 book for $180, bought it in perfect condition except for cover corner being bent, for $2
