I had some feelings I didn't know how to handle after I realized how many of the characters I had grown to enjoy were gone, but it felt like a waster opportunity (from my inner writer's point of view) to add a little more impact by knocking off one of the bigger characters. Wasn't like she was going to need them later, this was the last book after all. Ron or Hermione getting killed after everything they had survived together with both Harry and the reader / viewer would have been more poignant than a house elf and some idiot you didn't bother remembering because even their own mother couldn't tell him apart from his twin.

It was... sad, but pointless.
