2000 was the apology for ME in the same way 7 was for Vista. I never used ME, so I can't say how good/bad it was, but the issues from Vista that were fixed with 7 are most likely far greater in number.

I personally had to run Millennium Edition (ME) on my childhood computer and man it sucked. Waking up every morning to find it was crashed to the point of being forced to roll back the system was a nightmare. I tried reinstalling the OS several time (new to computers so I did not know how to torrent xp or anything) but to no avail. I ended up having to keep all my programs burned onto a few cds in portable forms so I would not have to constantly reinstall programs. So glad I got xp after. Also in case anyone was wondering it was a compaq presario with a Cyrix MII processor with a whopping 512 of ram and a voodoo2 graphics card. As soon as I installed xp and a new graphics card it was like a new computer. I loved that thing so much that I still have it. (gutted and modded).
