black people call each other niggers...

But if you would like another example, "bitch". Bitch means female dog. Inherently, nothing is negative about a female dog. Actually, I love dogs, so it could be a compliment!

but it's not when someone calls me a bitch. Again, context over definition. If I had a gay friend, I could say, "Oh yeah, he's gay" with no ill intention at all. Because the context is pleasant/neutral. But if a guy, who is straight, grabs my nuts and starts fondling them, I'll say "Goddammit Frank! that's gay! What the fuck?!"

The insult "gay" is used only in the context of when a straight male is doing homosexual activities. Everyone knows that if you call a homosexual "gay" it doesn't mean a thing and isn't insulting. Even if you try to making it insulting, you'd say "Man, you are gayyyyy", and he'd just stand there saying, "uh. yeah. I am."

"gay" as an insult isn't actually targeted towards homosexuals. It's targeted to straight men.

Yeah, I see what you mean. The "bitch" example was a good one. My point is that subconciously I perceive the word "gay" as a neutral one. So if someone is trying to insult me by saying I'm gay, for me it's the same as if he/she was trying to insult me by saying I'm Asian, for example. From the context, I understand that it was meant to be offensive, but as I subconciously perceive the word (gay, Asian, whatever) as neutral, the final sentence sounds funny to me and instead of being offended, I just laugh.

except how people use the word gay nowadays. Anything against your opinion is gay. Oh you like pepsi not coke, get yo gas ass outta here. You like the bruins and not the red wings, gayYY!

Being gay is thought to be bad. Thus is it an insult and it isn't just used when a straight male does homosexual activites.

I don't see any valid argument in that sentence.
