I don't mean anything by this or I'd be calling it "REAL FOOTBALL" or some other stupid shit but, in the NFL or american football for the other countries, they would have tackled the living shit out of them. There's some serious ass holes in the NFL including the commissioner himself.
User avatar #64 - kinginyellow (10/30/2014) [-]
Ya I've seen some asshole moves in the CFL too. I think it was Saskatchewan vs Edmonton where I saw one player grab another by the front of his helmet and pull him to the ground by it. Biggest asshole I've seen.
#62 - fuckingtrolls (10/30/2014) [-]
I knew someone was gonna make this comment saying exactly what you said.

And no I really fucking doubt it.
User avatar #82 - gggman (10/31/2014) [-]
Well there was the HUGE New Orleans saints bounty scandal SPECIFICALLY meant to hurt other players.

There's guys like Donkey Kong Suh I obviously don't know how to spell his first name who stepped on the packers players face.

And the recent Bengals linebacker tackling Cam newton and giving his, not yet 100% ankle that is healing from ankle surgery, and extra tug at the end of his tackle. Then doing the same to Greg Olsen later.

I'm not saying for sure they would, but there are some dudes in the league that fucking would.

Different sport entirely, different ethics, top of the line padding including a neck brace for falls like that. It's a different breed kid, meant to be played the way it's played. Can't compare the two.
User avatar #31 - gggman (10/30/2014) [-]
the extra padding adds so much weight, so much momentum, the hits are concussive. It'd be all internal injuries. The physical aspect isn't that different
User avatar #33 - presidentmoose (10/30/2014) [-]
It's really only concussive if you go helmet to helmet, which is illegal. Besides, in the NFL, you're not allowed to catch players. Only contact can be with a shoulder tackles (shoulder ram so to speak), a quick leg snatch, or a shoulder tackle (equivalent to a bear hug?). No spears, or holding, or any of the sort. Like I said, different breed.
User avatar #38 - gggman (10/30/2014) [-]
there isn't just shoulder rams? theres spears just no one wants to hit hard when they do it so they don't hurt themselves. The helmets hinder them from it, but anyways the spear is for wrapping them up and bringing them down. There's even body slams when the defense is keeping the ball carrier from moving forward anymore, and shoelace tackles to avoid a big guy from putting a shoulder down and truckin through you hah. idk though I guess, I don't watch rugby. I have been thinking of starting though because of that rugby player that wants to try football and it makes me wonder why he feels so confident in doing such a crossover.
User avatar #96 - processing (10/31/2014) [-]
There was a Saracens player who spent last season in the NFL. Can't remember who though.
User avatar #39 - presidentmoose (10/30/2014) [-]
I agree with everything you just said considering it's exactly what I just said, just worded differently. Spears are illegal, though.
User avatar #40 - gggman (10/30/2014) [-]
Idk I've never been called for it, but whatever

What position do you play? I played 2nd RB freshman year on JV and 1st WR the following 3 years for V. That was 6 years ago, though. Been a while but I still watch the games every now and then when I'm not working. Tell me you're not a Pittsburgh or a Jets fan...
User avatar #48 - gggman (10/30/2014) [-]
Definetley not a jets fan or a steelers, but i am a big niners fan, I'm San Francisco fan in general. I got to start as one of the MLB's on JV freshman year and would play TE sometimes when we ran a formation with 2 TE's on offense. the rest of high school I was kind of a 3rd string MLB i guess, but me and the 2nd alternated a lot so I got my playing time. Sometimes I was put at full back in my junior and senior years, which was weird at first but I definetley learned that I could block. That was all only like 2 and a half years ago now. Miss it a lot
User avatar #50 - presidentmoose (10/30/2014) [-]
I definitely miss it

Yeah, except in most jobs, you barely use more than a couple of formulas and even if you use more, in the vast majority of those jobs, you can have the formulas written down or look them up on a computer easily.

Most maths exams are nothing more than memory tests to see how many formulas you can memorise.
User avatar #221 - jordieb (10/11/2014) [-]
I always got most formulas in my exams to be honest. And at higher level sciences I feel like I would of found it very hard without the skills I learnt earlier in maths.
