The reason was to fucking depose Saddam Hussein and to establish a strong Amercian presence in Iraq so that Iran wouldn't be able to threaten the Saudis, our only Muslim ally in the middle east. Personally, I think that they should have finished Hussein off after the Gulf War, but I wasn't there to make that call and neither was George W. Bush. People had been calling for us to go into Iraq and squash that fucker for the better part of a decade. You whiny fucks just grew up learning that as children, and your teacher was the fucking media. Saddam Hussein was an evil person, for once America was able to punish an evil regime and meet political and economic goals, and you guys are whining about it why? Because it's war, and war is bad and scary so we should just pretend it's not important and let evil men do evil shit like that? And you know why we're still there? Because if we pull out, the Saudis or the Iranians will take over, and that would result a Sunni-Shia war that would be a much more lethal and dangerous conflict than maintaining an American military presence until they can defend their own damn country. Stop complaining about shit when you don't understand the full dimensions of it. Not everything is a result of corrupt politicians. Almost everything we do in regards to foreign policy is going to have a mixture of motivations, and just because some fuckers have dishonest ones, doesn't mean there aren't good reasons for doing something. So stop whining about something you don't fully understand. That's what weak and stupid people do. Honest and courageous people try to find out all the angles and avoid making petty and impulsive judgements.

Goddammit look at this shitstorm I have started.
In the Iran-Iraq war, The United States supported Saddam Hussein and supplied him with weapons and resources because they were afraid of Iran. Then they just went in Iraq after that war was over, claiming Saddam Hussein was dangerous and was willing to take out half the world. Doesn't that strike you as suspicious? And the media is a whole different story, they always wanted the wars to happen.

And dude, Saddam Hussein was a fucking lunatic. He raped little girls, he let his sons go out and just take women from their homes, rape them, and murder them. He killed political dissidents, he fucking murdered people for no reason at all. He was the sort of fuckstick who derived pleasure from PERSONALLY killing people, not to mention all the things he had his men do. He was considered one of the worst dictators of all time.

Actually, we invaded Iraq because Iraq captured the Kuwaiti oil fields. Kuwait has the sixth largest oil reserve in the world and was a major member of OPEC. Iraq was not our trade partner, and was planning on drafting a very favorable trade agreement with China that not only would have denied a huge source of crude oil to the US, but also would have cut into our trade with China. And America wasn't the only country affected. France and Great Britain would have been extremely crippled economically. That's why the UN decided to set up a coalition task force to take out Saddam. This was AFTER the Iran-Iraq war and the decision to withdraw (despite the fact that we could have marched straight into Baghdad) was a major sore point with American and European citizens. I think G. W. Bush's motivation was twofold, for oil, and I believe he wanted to show that he was a legitimate successor to his father. Bush had totally screwed up the oil group his father put him in charge of. He wasn't considered a very responsible choice for president, and I'm not even going to get into the issue of how he was elected. But I believe we did have legitimate reasons for going into Iraq, even if they weren't as righteous as some people would prefer all wars to fought for.

We invaded and crushed a despotic ruler who was feeding people into machines . Gassing women and children and started agressive wars with it's neighbors. Also Iraq did have a Chem Weapons program as stated in the WMD, WMD contains Gas,Bio,Atomic

If you do have time, read the above article.
This wikipedia page describes Saddam Hussein: "Secret police, torture, murders, rape, abductions, deportations, forced disappearances, assassinations, chemical weapons, and the destruction of wetlands (more specifically, the destruction of the food sources of rival groups) were some of the methods Saddam Hussein used to maintain control"yet it offers no sources for proof.
I'm not saying Saddam Hussein was a good person, or he deserved to live, but you never hear the Iraqi people talk about it, do you?
