It has happen to me several times, the first time it happend we were renting a house (remodeling ours) were a family we knew used to live, the older son had killed himself (jumped infront of a train naked) he was a pretty nice guy, and a not so close friend of my brother he youngest is my age and was a friend of mine.
I woke up face down on bed and i feel this hoovering thing behind me, all i can feel about it is that it wants to harm me somehow i try moving ot no avail... I try calling my mom but words can't leave my mouth i think i'll call my brother (he's room was closer than my mom's) again i can't, my brother's name is the same as the guy who killed himself and my name is the same as his younger brother (we're both Nicolas and my brother is Matias, just a coincidence) but when i feel a small "mati" coming out of my mouth a kid appears infront of me and holds my hands in his. And all i can think of is "you're with them, you just want to harm me" so i try to spit him(don't ask me why?) i woke up in tears and i did not dare go back to sleep that night.
I have plenty more stories, now i fight the feeling kinda like stand up to it, i still can't move but i stay in that state for as long as i can, until i get bored.
It's a chemical reaction in the brain, you release a hormone that puts you in an alert state, and as you're sleeping the hormone that should calm you down is not released you get in such an alert state that you are concious, but your body is asleep the figure is just an unconcious representation of the paranoia you feel.
in the past they used to think it was demons, succubus for men and incubbus for woman trying to get impregnated or impregnate with a demon seed.

Also most times i feel as is something is pulling me up from my uncles, i don't feel anything touching me i just feel my legs going up as if someone was pulling me up from my uncles.
The thing i sense (never seen it) is a shadow figure kinda like the grim reaper but it doesn't have a face or anything.
One time it tried to trick me, i worked at a mining camp, we lived in a camp-site and i woke up and thought damn it not again... and my roomate said "what's up?" and i told him, i think i'm having a sleep paralisis again, you can hear me?... He said yeah man, you're just tripping, there's nothing going on, and i tell him, well i feel as if there was. and (he bit on his teeth while he slept) while he's telling me again "nah men you're just tripping, go back to sleep" i hear his teeth grinding and i ask "who the fuck are you?" and all i hear is a fainting laughter.

Lol, it's all good. By the second "uncles" I had caught on to what you meant. Sometimes I think that while we're like that it's almost as if where in a heightened state of awareness almost, and are able to see things we normally wouldn't. Kind of like when people tell me stories about when they were on acid, or hallucinogenics like that. It makes me wonder if they were just seeing something on a different dimension maybe that our eyes and brain couldn't normally process. Almost like how younger kids are more prone to seeing the dead and things like that. What if the monsters they're afraid of are actually real? >.>

Well i take acid now and then, and it's nothing like that, you see things a little different, but mainly lights and the things that are moving in your peripheral vision. You notice things more while on acid, but it's nothing like sleep paralisis.

Yeah I was looking at the wiki page earlier. I found it interesting that that's kind of what the term "nightmare" is derived from.

Also, i take extacy sometimes, and when i get back home after a night out, i usually sleep like 2hs only and when i wake up (sometimes) i close my eyes and see people moving around i can't see their faces, they come near me and as soon as i'm about to see their faces they walk away add this to voices sometimes (like repetitions of what you heard while high) but you can't quite make out what they are saying, really trippy some people doesn't like it, i enjoy it, tho it's hard to come down stairs and be with the family while being like that hahaha.
But again nothing compared to that feeling of "IT want's to hurt me" coming from the sleep paralisis, it is like a nightmare, but at least to me, my mind is allways aware while it's happening like i can make logical assumptions as if awke, wich i believe is what mekes it all even more scary. But as i said before, i tried controlling it to no avail, i can cope with the fear, but the fear is still there, i tried creating a lucid dream out of it, and started imagining things (Considering the half&half state of the mind i thought it might work) it kinda did, but the fear was so constant that i couldn't concentrate on my "dream".
it hasn't happen in a while tho maybe like 3 months ago or something and it hadn't happen in like 2 months before that, but during a period it happend like twice a week...
That time it spoke to me i swear i thought it was trying to trick me into falling sleep for some reason.
Also i learned how to "wake up" you have to concentrate in waking up, like a very big effort, and you have to avoid thinking it's not going to work because it wont i had a few "inceptions" but mostly because i was curious and scared and i wanted to wake up but i wanted to learn more so i would wake up to the same situation.

I can't imagine experiencing something like that. I mean, just the shear terror I feel even when I know I'm alone is intense. If that fear actually manifested into something I would honestly probably die of a heart attack. It's been on my mind a lot lately and I've been worried about it mostly for the fact that I'm 6 months pregnant right now. I can't imagine the stress from that is good for the baby. I just hop anymore hold off at least until I deliver. .-.

In our country, sleep paralysis is linked to a well-known superstition. They say some heavy, paranormal being lies on top of you, making it difficult for you to move. If you can't find a way to get your body working again, it may as well be fatal. You could actually die from sleep paralysis. There are even some cases of deaths with it being the cause, although it's portrayed more of the being's doing, not the sleep paralysis. I don't know if you actually buy all this "paranormal being" stuff, but he gets all the blame for sleep paralysis incidents.

There was a post here on FJ (and some parts of the internet) back in the day about sleep paralysis and how to get into it voluntarily. Knowing that I could kiss this world goodbye as a risk, I never tried it and never will.

Personally, I don't have any experience with sleep paralysis, and I hope I never will.

Yeah I was looking in to a lot of stuff like that. I feel like those are more so just hallucinations, then again the fact that kind of the same thing shows up in a lot of peoples reports about it is pretty strange. I never had an experience with an entity or being myself.

Haha yeah I know what you mean. I was about to go lay down for a small nap. I honestly don't really mind them though. At least after the fact. Usually I'll fall asleep before I can regain control of my body and move. So it sometimes just feels like a dream, or I forget it even happened until later in the day. It's just during the event, be it about 1 - 5 minutes is hell.

I don't pay for Xbox Live Gold and I rarely buy DLC (besides Forza 4 cars). I have only bought one full price $60 game in my life (Skyrim). I spend even less money.

Well WoW game time is like 27€ 2months so it will get alot more expesive than xbox live which is 60€ year and if you are talking about DLCs its about 40€ every WoW expansion alone (if you bought it when it came to market) which is allmost the same as other games DLCs that could be 1€-20€ and i doupt you haven't bought eny other games than WoW.

I don't have any consoles, nor do I use steam. So I really haven't bought any new games. I think the last game I bought was DDR Supernova 2 for my PS2 before I sold it, and that was only like 5 bucks. I didn't even buy my MoP expansion, it was gifted to me, haha.

I will say I always thought a gold membership was $15, I didn't realize it was lower than that. Annually, if you buy time in 6 month chunks it comes to be about $150, add in the expansion and that's $190 for that year. Expansions come out every 2 years. Compare that to xbox, 1 full year, and 1 game, no DLC included is $120. Now, is someone who only plays xbox games only going to play one game for an entire year? Probably not. So you're looking at about the same amount of costs per year it seems.
