I'm pretty sure Japanese has like 2 alphabets. One is original Japanese (kanji or something) and the other is for words you don't know in kanji or words from a different language. There is also romaji where you write japanese words with english-type alphabet.

Katakana is used for foreign words, yes. I see where you're getting at, they tried to spell it in English since they employed the English alphabet, but Romaji is primarily used to spell the Japanese words out into English characters, so yes, my initial assumption may have been wrong due to that fact. Thanks!
