Guy does a double barrel roll after slipping on the road in the icy weather. You pull over to find out that he is unresponsive and in dire need of medical attention. Do you call the ambulance?
He didn't ask for help, therefor you shouldn't give it to him.

Not replying is also rude by the way, if you are so touched by the subject you should answer.

Let's use your example to show you how it's not appliable, excessively simplified this matter and confuses concepts.
Barrel Roll Guy=Iraq
The Ambulance= The US Army
You driving=Global opinion
Crashing your vehicle=Dictatorship maybe, weapons of mass destruction, the excuse your government used, I don't know but irrelevant.

Let's start by the crashing... A tsunami, an infestation, etc. those are accidents, the sovereignity of a country does not traspass another, not even the USA can do that legally without taking matters to the UN, which some can agree it's purpose is almost useless and partialized. A dying man, is not a country, if the people of Iraq asked for help, they sure are asking for the USA to leave, so why not leaving? Respect the iraquie's choice, is their "dying man" if you want to call it that way, which I personally refuse to.
Second but not least, If you want to aid a country, there are plenty of hungry and devastated countries, help them if your country wants. But not with the military, with real aid. You might say: "what about countries with armed guys fucking shit up?", well the UN has the military and the duty to intervine, not USA and a bunch of countries with whatever reason. Did they find any weapons of mass destruction? No. Did they get a punishment for invading a country for false reasons? No. You see how this works? UN approves what the USA wants as a public approval, nothing more (you driving)

Do not mistake army with medical aid like you did here, armies duties should be to defend one's country and nothing more.
By the way, If you want to discuss something we can, but please do not insult. There's no reason for that, not here in Uruguay, not in the rest of the world.
