difference is katia actually has problems.

Yep... and she's actually rational. Obviously she has a limit to how much shit she can deal with before she drops the rationality but she doesn't create the problems for herself, shit just happens.
It really is a great story once you get past the horribly depressing first "arc" if you wanna call it that.

I'm rather a fan of the depressing stuff, to me it's just part of the fact that everything is an Imperial Fucking Issue and requires that much more dedication and effort to overcome.

Also I find the series has a very Terry Pratchett-esque kind of humour.

What do you mean by an Imperial Fucking Issure?
I haven't read much Terry Pratchett so I wouldn't know what qualifies as his sort of humour but I do like his works and I do like this.
Honestly I find most of the humour comes from the stupid suggestions that people send in and the reactions to them.
User avatar #90 - bibblesworth (01/04/2015) [-]
I just remember the author using "Imperial fucking issue" instead of "federal fucking issue" cuz oblivion. And while yeah a good portion of it does come from the suggestions Kazerad as the DM/GM/whatever the hell the webcomic equivalent is still needs to spin the tale around those suggestions, not to mention coming up with character personalities and the sort, like Asotil, who'd fucking lock himself in jail until he was told to leave before becoming a guard.

I'd liken Terry Pratchett's humour to something similar like the original Hitch hiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Yeah, I know that the story is centered around there but what I am saying is that it has a normal tumblr girl atmosphere to it.

For the glory of satan, jntcoolman cries
as the darklord himself began to rise
but it was to late, before he could realize
it was not the devil who met his eyes

Rising from the one true hell
riddled with muscles, in no way thin
flexing pony love, chubby face, the throbbing bell
with ban hammer in tow. the one, the only Admin
