it really isn't, he doesn't mean the opposite of what he said, the audience doesn't know things the characters do not, nor does the opposite of what is expected to happen occur. So it is neither verbal, dramatic, nor situationally ironic. it is as plain as day that seth is telling parents to not blame tv for corrupting their kids.

The irony is that the audience has two choices, to allow their children to watch such shows, or to deny their children access to such shows.
The dialogue seems to suggest that you should restrict your child's access to such shows as Family Guy, and that this is an example of good parenting. However, if you heed this advice and restrict your children's access to this show, then you are parroting some stupid tv show's advice on how to raise your children and are therefore still the butt of the dialogue's joke.
There is no winning.

We tend to feel less towards livestock because they have less intelligence than pets and because they don't have anywhere near as close a relationship with humans. (Pigs being an exception, anyone who knows how intelligent a pig is will care about them at least as much as they would a cat.)
Though that being said, abuse of livestock is not by far acceptable. I'm fairly certain in any developed country, you lose your license as an animal products supplier, and probably get banned from owning livestock, if you're caught abusing them.
