Both sides are to blame because the Republicans have been trying to compromise and the Democrats have been trying to compromise but both sides add in a little something to help with their side which is why the other side rejects.
Our politicians are so party minded they do not think about what is best for their country, just what is best for their party.
Right now our leaders stand divided which is why we are falling apart politically because nothing can be done if they can't work together to make a solid bill without loopholes and earmarks.
Don't be so leftist that you think the problem is the Republicans the problem is unity and being able to work through disagreements instead both are acting like spoiled children.
I am sorry to hate on you but I am a little bit.
I am so tired of narrow minded people like who put the blame on your political rivals you are the reason our country cannot move forward

If you're faulting one party for acting up because they didn't get their way, you have to fault the other (because they refused to do anything if they didn't get their way as well).
Again, if you disagree with something, you don't just roll over and give up. It's unreasonable to expect you to capitulate on something you're ideologically against. So by extension, we also can't fault the Democrats for not going along with what the Republicans want.
The House actually DID offer up several changes/compromises. They:
1. passed another bill that delayed the healthcare law's implementation for another year. dailycaller.com/2013/09/30/reid-senate-will-reject-new-house-plan/
2. Asked the Senate to come and talk with them so they could work something out.
3. Tried to pass bills that funded individual parts of the government that had been shut down. www.c-span.org/Events/House-Rules-Meets-on-Bills-to-Fund-Parts-of-the-Government/10737441827-1/
I will give credit to the President and a few congressional leaders for meeting today and trying to reach some sort of agreement. www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2013/10/02/shutdown-day-two/2907817/
So basically both halves of Congress could end this shutdown whenever they pleased. Therefore it is fair to assign blame to both legislative bodies.
Instead of both sides not budging, they should both budge a little bit and meet somewhere in the middle.
If the government had been run responsibly we wouldn't ever have had this issue, but that's a long conversation for another time.
To be fair, Obamacare was passed via some sketchy regulatory procedures. It can also be argued that since Obamacare's fine was classified as a tax, the bill was passed illegally because all bills relating to revenue must originate in the House.
Quick overview of why the bill is bad: Tries to compel people to purchase healthcare, results in higher premiums and artificial demand.

The House legally defunded the government so why should people whine.
(This is not to say I support what the house did, just that your whole argument is weak)
Also as far as why is ObamaCare bad:
"Workers at a majority of the nation’s employers – including as many as four out of every five small businesses – would lose their current coverage"
"fewer than 700,000 physicians would be available to treat a patient population growing in size, aging in years"
"CMS said it anticipates that these new fees and taxes will be passed down to consumers in the form of higher drug and device prices and higher insurance premiums, raising health care costs from $2.1 billion in 2011 to $18.2 billion in 2018."
These are just a few, the source is a non-partisan charity btw: healthcarereform.procon.org/view.resource.php?resourceID=003725
