romney implemented it on a state level, which is fine constitutionally, that would work great, because it cane be determined by each state's needs. but obama did something that is highly unconstitutional. he made a federal law which is not allowed by the constitution. it says which powers the federal government has, and then says ALL other powers are afforded to the states.
so to get around this "it's a tax" well you know what? it started in the wrong fucking house.

... when the governmental body that decides whether or not a piece of legislature is constitutional gave Obamacare the green light, you lost all ability to sound credible while calling it unconstitutional. The fact that morons keep spouting that bullshit off after the Supreme Court upheld it is positively baffling. You can throw that word around all you want, but the Supreme Court ultimately decides what is and is not constitutional, end of discussion.
Now, i'm not too happy with the way Obamacare is going at the moment, to be perfectly honest. They botched it up quite royally, actually. But the fact is that you cannot realistically/factually call it unconstitutional.

You're missing the fact that it doesn't matter. The way our government works is that the SC has the final say. A bill that very blatantly goes against all the founding points of the constitution would be passed into law if the SC said it was constitutional. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF IT ACTUALLY IS, SO LONG AS THE SC UPHOLDS IT. That is the reality of our Judicial system. Nine people who call the shots, and who are beholden to literally no-one.

Yeah, Romney tried to pass an identical system...and that didn't set off any warning lights when Obama did the same thing?
If Romney had been elected and had tried to pass the ACA, every liberal blogist and news outlet would have been screaming from the rooftops. The only people who benefit from the ACA are the insurance companies and large corporations. I mean, wouldn't you love to be the CEO of a company where people were required by law to buy your product? As for large corporations--who currently provide most of their employees with insurance--they can just drop everyone and pay the government fine, because it's probably cheaper depending on the size of the company .
Obama can claim the ACA helps people with pre-existing conditions get coverage--big whoop. Now they have to pay for insurance which is now much more expensive. Hardly an improvement.
This is why we need a Republican president. NOT because I would agree with their policies, but because more people in the mainstream and the media would be willing to criticize their policies. The ACA would have never been passed under a Republican president.

The whole point of the ACA was to just get something done about healthcare reform. The whole point was that it was a republican idea, hoping that the parties could agree for once. But noooo, if Obama likes it the Tea Party fucktards have to run away from it so they can puff their chests out in townhall meetings. Fuck that, we should have just gone for single payer if democrats were going to get called socialists and communists and the many other creative names tea party politicians use to scare people.

Nobody really asked about what Romney did. If Romney pulled off a truly identical plan, then that would make him just as much of a piece of shit. Having two pieces of shit doesn't make one or the other smell any better, in fact in makes them both smell worse.
God I fucking hate bipartisan politics.
