The thing about wolves and wolfdogs is, the vast, VAST majority of people cannot tell them apart from "wolf-like" dogs.
Your boy is gorgeous, but he looks like a Malamute and/or Husky mix. I've worked with wolves and wolfdogs for over a decade and I have studied phenotyping, which basically means determining "how much" wolf is in a wolfdog by examining the subject animal in question.
First off, notice that your boy has a pink "snow nose". This is exclusive to nordic breeds like huskies and malamutes - you will never see a pure wolf, nor a high-content wolfdog, who has anything but a solid black nose.
Next, look at his ears. They are triangular with pointed tips, and there is not much fur inside - you can see a lot of pink "ear leather". This is a trait of huskies, malamutes and especially german shepherds.
Wolf ears are thick, round-tipped and very well insulated with fluffy fur inside and out.
Look at his colors too. He has malamute or husky markings - a white mask that accents his eyebrows.
His colors do not spread around his eyes nor do they extend down his nose like a "wolf mask".
His chest is also rather broad, and his legs are somewhat short. These are both dog traits - wolves have very narrow chests so their front legs are placed close together, with the elbows almost touching - and they have very (almost disproportionate) long legs with big lanky paws.
It may be a hard pill to swallow, especially if you paid handsomely for a "pet wolf" - but you are NOT alone.
Nearly everyone who has ever gotten a "wolfdog" or "wolf" actually has a dog with very little to no wolf in it, even if it does look convincing to the casual observer (I get asked if my pure husky is a wolf, wolf "hybrid" or "half wolf" on a regular basis).
Thankfully, dogs and "low-content" wolfdogs make much, MUCH better companion animals for people - because the truth of the matter is, wolves require special care and they do not make good pets at all.
