Not at all, no. Not sure about the 1st and 2nd (again, never played the first) but the 3rd has nothing to do with the other far crys.

1st is definitely a lot of fun, and it's got some great moments. You've got a lot of choice in how you approach most of the levels, which is refreshing, and they're absolutely massive, which means you can really have fun planning your attacks. That said, the AI is frustrating as hell, because they're FAR too perceptive, especially on the higher difficulty levels. You're pretty fragile, so need to rely on stealth, but enemies can spot you half the map away. through a million trees, then instantly shoot you in the head whilst psychically informing everyone within a million miles of your exact location. Plus some of them just aren't fun to fight. The story also gets majorly goofy about half way through, although that's your call to make.

Like I said, it's definitely a good game, but don't buy it if you're easily frustrated. And I mean that in the sense of game mechanics; I can take a game being hard, but in Far Cry 1, I felt like I spent a lot of time losing because of dumb balancing or design.

Never played the first, far cry 2 I enjoyed, but it had its "Aaaaaagh" moments. Far Cry 3 is the best, for sure.

Ok, looking back, that was a really limp dick answer to your question:

In short, Alan Wake follows the perils of a famed writer, Alan Wake, who has recently hit a lull in creative outflow. He and his wife Alice take a vacation to Cauldron Lake where something dark and mysterious lurks beneath its calm surface. Suddenly, Alan finds himself in a twisted reality with his wife missing and shadowy "taken" people out to kill him. He keeps finding transcript pages from a book he doesn't remember writing, with events and details seemingly predicting things happening to him in the moment. The whole game is beautifully written, with simple but likable characters, and has without a doubt one of the best sound tracks I've ever heard; probably my personal favorite.

If you're looking for a truly unique, story driven horror game rife with chills and haunting beauty then this is one to check out.

There was actually a case where a woman received botox injections illegally by an unregistered doctor. The dosage was too high (and I can only assume other complications) and she eventually became completely paralyzed. She would have died regardless of where she was at the time (As her organs began to stop), but it just so happened that she was in her pool/spa when she started to lose her motor functions and slowly slid to the bottom of the pool, unable to move a muscle.
