1. Cultural ties. Offending one's religion is like offending one's way of life.
2. Intellectual ties. Calling one's religion irrational seems as though you are calling the person irrational for believing it. That is generally taken as an insult to intelligence.
3. Meaning. Religion becomes an important tool in locating one's identity in the universe. Family, Culture, Philosophies and Religion are central to how an individual composes their view of the world and thus how they fit in it. If you disrupt that balance a religious person loses a sense of meaning. They lose a sense of who they are, where they stand, or where they ought to be or where they ought to stand.
User avatar #52574 - jefftheturtle (02/22/2014) [-]
But why do people think that their religion can be messed with? Why do they think that it can be made irrational or be proved wrong? As far as I can tell no religion on this planet can be proved wrong, and even if it could, that wouldn't stop people believing in it cuz beliefs are untouchable. I understand why it is important to people but I wanna know why they get so damn defensive if you offer a different view.
User avatar #52103 - eight (02/21/2014) [-]
Well, I guess the keyword here is want.

You should not believe something because you want to. You should believe something when there is good reason to.

The reason people care so much about is because they want to. It brings them comfort.

Get angry about it piece of shit. Tell your manager you're fucking pissed. If they're not doing their job right, they need to be put in their fucking place. Get mad you sad pushover.

I don't mean to call you names, just trying to make you more livid on the subject. love you<3

oh yeah, and if it doesn't work out by talking to the employees, go to your boss.

Think of yourself. It isn't fair to you or your employees.

Not only are you helping yourself out, you will be making them better people (hopefully) by teaching them they need to work for their shit or whatever...
#117218 - ruffntuff (02/17/2014) [-]
Tell the other employees in a calm way what you're thinking...
I understand it may be hard, so you could practice telling yourself in the mirror or something.
I know it may seem impossible, but you gotta think... those people's lives are being made easier at your own dispense (sorry if I used that word incorrectly but you know what I'm saying)
You just gotta think of yourself and do what you gotta do... this would be alot easier to talk about if it wasn't through text
Hope this helps and hope the best for ya bro

Dude there's nothing to that thing, it looks pretty abandoned too. If there are wasps on it just spray the piss out of it with a wasp killer, but I'm pretty certain it's dead.

<Now THIS would be a problem.
I work construction and we took down a wall and this was inside. Mostly abandoned though, by this point.

Heres a little story my dad and his friend went to take care of a underground wasps nest in our backyard with some classified explosives that they thought were pretty weak
to shorten it most of the wasps died a few stings happened and we were left with a big hole in the back yard

If theres alot of wasps there just hire someone
User avatar #105838 - funnyjunkianonetwo (12/05/2013) [-]
If there aren't any wasps in it you can just get rid of it, but if there are wasps I would recommend trying to get some help seeing as how I doubt you either have a beekeeper's suit or can get to an indoor location quick enough to avoid wasps.
User avatar #105837 - epicextreme (12/05/2013) [-]
if it looks active then spray it with wasp killer, if its dead touch it and watch it crumble it feels weird and looks cool, make sure to check your loft there might be more that one might be there summer house outdoors while they're actually using 21st century technology in your loft to remortgage your house
hope this helps

Yes, there are a lot of poor homeless pets - we tried adopting some from the shelter, but it never worked out unfortunately. But there are even more starving people, sick and homeless people on earth - does it mean we should start castrating humans?

If you're positive they arent bee's and they are in fact wasps then im pretty sure the nest should be entirely visible.

Here's and example of one i photographed in greece, they are usually a cluster of cells attached to a surface by a single stem.

User avatar #102714 - jefftheturtle (11/12/2013) [-]
hmmmm do they hang or can they just lay on top of a surface cuz this nest is not hanging to any degree. But they are definitely a cluster of cells I can tell you that much.

Same anon here, came back to see if anyone decided to reply, and i admit, you have a real problem like not being able to help your brother who needs it, and i wish you well, but my point isnt that im saying "Im sad, my life is shit, so i dont care if i die" because my life isnt sad (well, ive no social life, but fuck people, the internet is my home) so i wont act like it is, i just, dont see the joy everyone else sees in life, i dont think life is so much to be glad about. ill come back later to check, and again, best of luck with your brother, Jeff (if thats your real name) ^^.
User avatar #350 - jefftheturtle (09/10/2013) [-]
Life can be glad or it can be sad or it can even make you mad....bad rhyme Life can be whatever you want it to be. It's all about what parts of it you pay attention Some people like to be sad and that's okay. I like glad so I make my life glad by finding and spending time with people that make me feel good and I try to change myself into a person that I would look up to, but that's just what I want. Life is full of all kinds of emotions and some people don't realize it because they only pay attention to a certain kind. This goes for the people who believe life is hell, people who believe its empty and the ignorant people that don't see pain. You can live your life how you want, no one else gets to decide that but it might help you to recognize that what you pay attention to, will change your outlook on everything. Also I just wanted to say that really my life isn't very hard. I think that anyone who has access to the internet probably doesn't have it a bad as they think they do.

I agree. I started out @ 58kg and 6'1" and most of my initial workouts were just "a lot of effort, not so much lifting". But even then I knew exactly what exercises to perform and how, because I researched it all before starting training. It really isn't that hard when there's literally hundreds of pages dedicated to the topic.

Bottom line- effort matters, as long as it's not pointless.
