It's a poorly cited counter that people use. I looked it up to find out what the whole thing says and can't actually find anything containing the sentences "A marriage shall be considered valid only is the wife is a virgin" and "If the wife is not a virgin, she shall be executed."
The whole section does boil down to that, but there's more to it than just virginity (mainly it is meant as a defense against slandering women due to a husband's dislike rather than just punish them on the man's word). Uppity people just like to reference it to "burn" someone who uses the bible to argue against homosexuality.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against homosexuals and even find it abhorrent to cite a religious text to get people to not support it. On the other hand, I hate people citing the Bible incorrectly just to insult someone; most of the time the person never even read that section of the bible nor did any research on it and merely said "lolz, I remember seeing this one on 4chan." Then again i'm just against using religion to bash others, be it using your own to insult someone or trying to find a loophole of sorts in another's to go after them.
TL;DR: The kid quoted the Bible very incorrectly and missed the entire point of the section just to insult someone.

maybe. I mean i just read it and basically it says If a man claims after the wedding night that the wife wasnt a virgin the parents must bring the bloody cloth to the priests to prove she was, and then the marriage stands and he cant divorce her. If they cant prove she was, then she gets stoned to death.
Shortening that to "nonvirgin wives get executed" hardly seems to change the meaning in any meaningful way.
if you want to read for yourself.

Hey that's the same place I looked. And you're correct, it doesn't change the meaning of "nonvirgin wives get executed" if you shorten it like that. I mean that is literally in there, I just feel like they were glossing over some very important parts of the law just for a cheap insult.
Basically, his insult was in there but his incorrect citation makes me think he didn't really know what he was talking about and just wanted to take some info he had read online to insult a Christian to be edgy and feel smarter than her. I'm not saying what he wanted it to mean isn't in there, just that he doesn't understand the whole context and one really shouldn't attempt to insult someone in that situation when they're also taking a shot at someone not fully understanding the Bible as a whole.

I think he was just shortening it. I feel like rather than being edgy, he was pointing out her own hypocrisy. Even jesus said "let he who is without sin cast the first stone," but many christians ignore that fact and are quick to pass judgements while being guilty of many equivalent sins. It just points out to the believer, assuming they are openminded enough to examine their own beliefs, that maybe they should read into what they claim to support.
Homosexuality is mentioned a bare handful of times in the bible, and never in anything attributed to jesus. Divorce is hammered home and jesus speaks directly to it, and yet no christians are trying to ban divorce. Pointing out that they are picking and choosing bits of the bible not based on Christ's teachings, but based on their own personal agendas might cause them to examine their beliefs. I dont think that is a bad thing.
Also offering a counter quotation to show the irony of another's position is not insulting.

He was shortening it and pointing out the hypocrisy of what the girl said. But, he's still being somewhat hypocritical considering his counter is essentially "You don't follow everything in the Bible" when he's glossing over important parts of the section.
Don't get me wrong, under normal circumstances what he did would have been fine (only way to argue against a quotation from a religious source is to cite something from that source as well). But, the fact that he was essentially making an ad hominem and didn't cite the source correctly says (at least to me) that this isn't an intelligent individual trying to argue against a religious belief and instead someone using a biblical quote to get a quick burn.
He was trying to call her a hypocrite for what she said and I guess what he did wasn't really "wrong" but I just think it was in somewhat poor taste and his lack of understand about the entire section of which he "quoted" (although only quoted 2 lines out of 8) makes the entirety of his final statement somewhat wrong. He did the same thing that she did: chose a particular part of a religious text to back up what he said and ignored the rest. And again, this isn't improper argument technique and is in fact the only viable option at this point but, considering the misunderstanding he had, I'd say it wasn't a good tactic and has the same effect of "lolz you were a slut."
