#70 - Why would you even want an ambulance for a cut lip when there …  [+] (18 new replies) 11/25/2013 on Unpopular Opinion Time +13
#117 - blancka (11/25/2013) [-]
It's not world war 3. Most hospitals get hardly any emergencies, and the worst cases they tend to get regularly are from alcohol induced violence, and tbh i think someone who is mugged and stabbed deserves treatment more than someone who can't tell when to stop drinking
#121 - jeej (11/25/2013) [-]
First of all, he was stabbed in the lip. Nothing else. He is pretty much fine, he just needs a couple of stitches. An ambulance is made for emergencies, PEOPLE DYING, for instance.

Secondly, everybody deserves treatment, no matter how hopeless their case are.
User avatar #236 - badgerbaiting (11/26/2013) [-]
How noble and self sacrificing you are. Shall we expect such nobility if you get stabbed with a broken bottle?
#238 - jeej (11/26/2013) [-]
I'm just stating my opinions. We don't have to agree. And yea, if I got stabbed in the lip, I would probably call a friend, a parent or a cab. I would rather not take an ambulance since that could make me the cause of someone else not getting one in time, someone who might be dying.
User avatar #239 - badgerbaiting (11/26/2013) [-]
My friends and I were out.
I don't live anywhere near any relatives.
I am poor as balls.

I guess we don't share the same luxuries either.
#242 - jeej (11/26/2013) [-]
Then that's a whole other story.
Sorry for judging before I knew the whole thing.
Of course you are obligated to an ambulance, sorry bro.
#243 - badgerbaiting (11/26/2013) [-]
Apologies for being chopsy. I offer this Dog as a peace offering.

Peace brother.
#142 - magicboudha (11/25/2013) [-]
He didnt know he was stabbed in the lip when it happend, he probably just knew that a fucking knife was jammed in his face and now there's blood everywher. I would have called for an ambulance too.
User avatar #235 - badgerbaiting (11/26/2013) [-]
A bottle as it goes.
#123 - blancka (11/25/2013) [-]
I somehow doubt the knife used was sterilised, infections can happen quickly, and depending on the cut, blood loss could be a problem.
#124 - jeej (11/25/2013) [-]
I really can't see how you can think that about five minutes more for waiting on a cab would make a difference for an infection.
Also, blood loss would be a problem, if the robber would have actually cut of his fingers or a hand. Not just a stab in the lip.
User avatar #88 - badgerbaiting (11/25/2013) [-]
A lot of blood added to the fact that my lip was hanging off. Typical internet tough guy "hurr durr, u don't need stitchez". Stupid cunt.
#91 - jeej (11/25/2013) [-]
Never said you didn't need stitches. Just the fact that you weren't dying, so you could have just gone with the cab option in the first place instead of calling an ambulance when you don't actually need one.
#111 - rabidaardvark (11/25/2013) [-]
most cabs wont even let you in if you've got drinks, do you really think they'll be ok with blood gushing everywhere?
User avatar #237 - badgerbaiting (11/26/2013) [-]
I used my t-shirt to absorb the worst of it and the cabbie was a bro.
#114 - jeej (11/25/2013) [-]
Obviously they did, since he did take a cab there.
And I think there's a huge difference between blood and drinks, since one is actually coming from a wound and the other is quite easily disposable and can be obtain pretty much wherever you go.
User avatar #83 - elyiia (11/25/2013) [-]
To be fair, if I got stabbed in the face my immediate thoughts would be "Holy fuck I need to go to the hospital"

My personal belief is that a woman can do whatever they want with their own bodies but just like everyone else, not the rights to be immune from judgement etc. Feminists also have the rights to their opinions and to their judgements as well but not the rights to take the authoritarian approach and police the world to cater to their every god damn need. Degrading people who oppose rape? No, I'm opposing feminists. Every decent human being opposes rape. Feminists just take a slightly different approach with their belief. If it's anything, feminists are the one's who degrade and undermine rape victims by unnecessarily throwing the word around constantly like a political weapon for petty issues and thereby trivialising it. If I were a woman in the third world, I'd feel very insulted that these western thirdwavers claim to be 'oppressed' themselves whereas these women are denied basic human rights. It's like some 12 year old going all emo because his parents didn't get him an iphone whilst there are starving kids in Africa.

I never said rape is consensual. My point I was trying to make was that fucking is a good thing in the situation other than rape. Murder on the other hand is not. By no means am I trying to excuse rape or justifying it. Yes, my full condolences go out towards rape victims, I can imagine the trauma they've been through but I wish feminists would stop treating it like it's worse than murder, war or genocide. Jokes are made often about murder, war, political unrest etc so how are rape jokes any different? What was it that I addressed at the end exactly?

The difference between the rape joke and your example was that the girl was just merely implying that choosing to risk going to jail to fuck someone should be a flattering. Technically, fucking someone is a good thing (provided there's consent of course). Though slightly distasteful, that's where the humour comes from. I wouldn't cry over your example but it had no humour in it whatsoever.
#148 - jeej (11/06/2013) [-]
Ah, but that's the thing. Rape is never consensual.
Even tho there has been a lot of dumb bitches making false rape accusations, you must realize what a real rape victim goes through.
Also, I used that attack example because both are traumatizing and can ruin an individual for the rest of their life.
Btw, the joke itself wasn't the problem, it was the way you addressed it at the end.
Just as Keith quoted. That was truly distasteful.
