I am also well aware of stuff goes down in America and these "representatives" usually do not represent anyone. They represent who ever they damn well please because their ass hats. I am sure if it wen't to a vote gay marriage would pass in the USA. Your government system is just horrifically flawed when a "representative" only represents who he wants.

You also really don't understand though how difficult it is to change laws do you? You just think its a bippity boppity boo deal and shit gets done over night. When stuff isn't put to a vote by the public laws take for ever. Trust me, I'm a scientist.
User avatar #59 - jedawg (04/07/2014) [-]
Also yeah, fuck our representatives. Americans are aware of their horse shit. We know they only represent the guys with the bigger wallets.

No I don't. I've taken government and law classes, I understand the complexity of something as simple sounding as passing a bill. I know that there are states trying to get it done and have been working on it for awhile. that's great. good for them, what I'm trying to say though is that time, effort, and money are not the reason for a good half of the country. I don't disagree with you that that's the reason for many of the states, but what I'm trying to bring to light is that the reason for the rest of them is just idiocracy.

Not sure if you're trolling or not, but I'll explain this to you anyway.
God didn't create those people as evil. As time progressed after the population grew on earth, people began to stray from the path of God's teachings. They had wars and conflicts, greed was common, and very few people still followed in the footsteps of god.
#137 - anonymous (04/08/2014) [-]
And yet He created Adam and Eve with full knowledge of what humanity would become (being omniscient and all).
#144 - anonymous (04/08/2014) [-]
Sure, but that's the price of free will. Allowing people the choice to be evil is what grants meaning to a love of God. If humans could not help but love God, if we couldn't choose evil and we were only capable of being good, that love wouldn't be worth much at all. It would be like writing yourself a fan letter.
User avatar #64 - trollins (04/08/2014) [-]
The Catechism of the Catholic Church states that we have the free will to find God, and that is essentially his plan.

Do realise how much things cost? For one law there are multiple people involved, forgetting the money it takes to pay people to discuss, debate and such to actually create a bill. Thats just the one law. Then you have to change the law that the new law now contradicts, with the same process as before... Then the same for the next law the second law now contradicts... and the third...

And representative? Dude, I have a fucking MP and we have Gay marriage. It too for ever. 10 fucking years of law changing, voting and such and when it DID become law it took a fucking YEAR for the first gay marrages to be allowed (the weekend before last). The UK didn't hate gays for those 10 years it was illegal, we just had to take that long so the government and laws didn't just spiral out of controll. Idiots think it can happen over night and it simply can't.
User avatar #51 - jedawg (04/07/2014) [-]
But the issue isn't the money. The problem is that a bill like that doesn't even want to be considered. I understand how it happened in the UK and I'm aware of why it was so lengthy. We don't have the same problems in the U.S. Representatives are supposed to go off of the people and there's too many places where the majority just opposes it and that's the real problem. Not the money, not the effort and time required.

it is the same thing. its saying its wrong to push your child into something they dont understand and maybe wouldnt choose for themselves. this can apply to so much. i think they are both very much the same minus the time span spent.

The child is perfectly capable that he has two dads for parents. They're not trying to make him think any differently. It's simply that.
