Yeah, that's it.
Below is an actual spoiler
It ended with the the girl, and her boyfriend entering the hole in the center of the spiral their town has become. Her boyfriend falls off the staircase, and she starts running towards the bottom. When she gets down there, she finds out that tons of people from her town have fallen down the hole. She starts walking around, trying to find her boyfriend and she notices a huge, unfinished structure. It looks like the people that have fallen down the hole are becoming part of the structure. She finds her boyfriend and the two of them become part of the structure. It's like the structure has a mind of it's own, and even though it's creators are dead, it wants to be finished.

Of course I'm not saying that there is a way to say that one sound is better or worse than its "peer", but there is an objective way to tell whether a sound is more harmonious with another sound from the ratios of frequencies. Of course it is up to the artist to play with that harmony in a subjective creative leap, but the harmony still exists as an objective basis. I'm not saying that the value of subjective creations can be measured with an objective compass, but that they all rest on an objective basis, which is their medium. Works that do not comply with that basis are not bad, but merely ungrounded, not established well on the medium.

Plus, not every work of art is on the same level, i.e. some of them have a broader range or a focus more abstract than some others. This property is objective and does not concern the "goodness" of the work, but still affects the quality of the work. There is no "inherent" value in a work of art, since they are created, but still, how much the statements they make work and how smoothly they operate (as in literature) does affect their quality beyond the level of value judgments.

If there were nothing objective in art, people wouldn't have to get educated in all the rules and theories and whatnot. Take music theory. There are objective reasons and guidelines for melodies, for chord progressions, for harmony, for voice leading, for tonality, for forms and structures, etc. Art doesn't just consist of random whims, but systematic designs on an objective ground as well.
#41 - jazzingtonshire (06/15/2014) [-]
You make a good point friend, but tonality and harmony have more to do with fundamental physical concepts than an actual value judgement. The actual ranking of art in an objective manner (i.e. this is better than this and there are concrete reasons to say so) cannot be done because there is no inherent "value" in anything.

Some people hate postmodern literature. Some people hate the Romantics. Some people hate poetry without form. Some people love poetry with form. There is no value that we can ascribe to any kind of sound, even those that conform or fall foul of physical laws, to suggest they are "better" or "worse" than their peers.

Well, the thing is, in a courty of law, this could be construed as rape. But you know what? I lead him on, I did my duty, he enjoyed himself, I thoughy about the stuff I had to do the next day while it was going on (laundry, finishing an essay, etc), no harm done. All I care about is that I made someone happy, as far as I'm concerned, a few pints of lager and a laugh with him later about not being gay, end of story. No biggie.
#189 - anonymous (06/07/2014) [-]
This is why I hate the feminism movement. A guy says this and he's awesome.

A girl says this and she's being oppressed, and we need to liberate her, and kill the person she had sex with.

This world is a cold and lonely place. If we can make each-other happy, even if only for a few drunken mintes, who cares. Male, female, we are one. That night wasn't wrong. It was just two lonely people sharing a moment of intimacy. I'd do it again in heart-beat.

Actually good sir. You would be wrong. I myself am an old fag. Back from way back when. However faggots now a days have taken perfectly good memes and have turned them into horrible things that they say to one another that they think is funny when in fact it is not funny whatsoever. As for the road it was a joke from long ago. You act as if you are not such a new fag yourself, however, you young man are some of the people who have taken the greatness of the internet that used to mean something and have taken it down so many notches that it cant even come back ever.

confirmed for new as fuck. Holy shit you're a flaming faggot. Stop writing purple prose about the internet and go find a cause worth writing for.

I never said i wasnt a flaming faggot. It was taken work to get to this level of faggotness thank you very much. As for a cause worth writing for. There arent any. The world sucks and nothing you nor i say is going to change a thing. But ill let you think that you can help by writing out little letter to random people on the internet. You're also probably vegan

But anyways i just came here to see how you were doing and then ya bow shit all over the place. But no i'm not a vegan i rather enjoy meat. Human flesh is the best though i must say.

Well tata i suppose. Have a lovely day
#34 to #32 - jazzingtonshire (08/06/2012) [-]
Oh dear. You come here spouting the most tired meme, butthurt, without even a fairly creative variation on it, then pretend you were here for reasons other than that. Whatever, you did a good job of doing the archetypal reaction of someone who is mad and doesn't want to show it, being semi-removed and writing in flowery shit.

>human flesh is the best

You really are so new to the internet. Are you from Rwanda or something?

And yes, I'm having a lovely day.
#38 to #34 - anonymous (08/06/2012) [-]
Well i wasn't trying to be creative i was merely stating a fact. Well thanks i suppose. I wasn't actually trying to accomplish anything but alright. And as for flowery shit i always talk like that and find it normal so i am sorry that you are not ok with it.

But no i am not new to the internet and no i am not. I merely say what comes to mind and im sorry if you are more uptight than i am. Granted maybe i sound retarded half the time but i dont care.

Well i know that was sarcasm, so i am sorry that your day is not going as planned. I honestly do hope it gets better.
User avatar #14 - budbrown (08/06/2012) [-]
re you saying a women in a bikini is just as likely to get raped as a women in a burka? that is your logic
#15 to #14 - jazzingtonshire (08/06/2012) [-]
No that's not what I'm saying at all. I'm saying a girl doesn't deserve to get raped because of the way they dress. That content specifically implies that girls have no right to complain about being forced into intercourse because they chose to dress in a way that is sexually enticing.

Let me ask you this. Do you it's alright to rape someone because they are scantily clad?
User avatar #18 to #15 - budbrown (08/06/2012) [-]
personally no, but if someone is scantily clad then that someone will have a higher chance of being raped. And then they complain about being a rape victim when it's their fault that they got raped.
#19 to #18 - jazzingtonshire (08/06/2012) [-]
That makes no sense. How is it anyones fault that they get raped? You know what sex is? Sex is intercourse between consenting parties. Are you seriously saying the blame lies with someone who chooses to dress in a revealing manner and not with people who are mentally ill enough to rape someone?
User avatar #22 to #19 - budbrown (08/06/2012) [-]
I didnt mean all the fault. Obviously most of the fault lies in the hands of the rapist. But if you dress like a slut, you will be treated like a slut
#24 to #22 - jazzingtonshire (08/06/2012) [-]
And being denigrated by your peers is fine, that's totally in the realm of things that are acceptable. What isn't acceptable is FJ thumbing up, en masse, a content that claims that it's okay to rape girls because of the way they dress and that it would be their fault should it happen. No matter what way you dress, no matter what way you act, rape isn't ok.
User avatar #26 to #24 - budbrown (08/06/2012) [-]
I dont believe that was what the post was about. The post was about how the 90% naked girls cry about being raped, when they were 90% naked. It is common sense that rape isn't ok
#27 to #26 - jazzingtonshire (08/06/2012) [-]
The post shows revealingly clothed girls. It implies that they went to a party, got raped for the way they were dressed, then complained about it. It implies that they deserve it for how they dressed. Why would a "naked" girl cry about being raped?
User avatar #30 to #27 - budbrown (08/06/2012) [-]
Isn't that what I'm talking about? If you are almost completely naked, people might just rape you. If you are almost completely naked, you should expect the attention a whore gets
#31 to #30 - jazzingtonshire (08/06/2012) [-]
But that's the point. Attention and rape are different things. No matter what way a person chooses to dress they should be able to dress that way without being raped. Acting as if they're at fault because they got raped by some sick person isn't fair at all, yet thousands of people clearly agreed with that sentiment and thumbed it up.

That or they're all hormonal teenagers who thumbed it up because it's almost nudity. Which I am starting to suspect it was now.
User avatar #33 to #31 - budbrown (08/06/2012) [-]
Probably not the latter considering there is an NSFW section
Basically what I'm saying is a female in an outfit similar to the one in the post will have a higher percentage of getting sexually assaulted than a female in a normal outfit
User avatar #35 to #33 - budbrown (08/06/2012) [-]
So the possibility of being raped should have crossed their minds when they put the outfit on.
#36 to #35 - jazzingtonshire (08/06/2012) [-]
The possibility should. The stats should. Just like when you go out for a walk, you should say to yourself, there is a chance I could get hit by a car today. But that doesn't mean when it happens, it's your fault. Someone being forced into sex, for ANY reason, is never at fault. That's the point I made and apparently it made FJ so mad they thumbed me down in their hundreds and got me banned.
User avatar #37 to #36 - budbrown (08/06/2012) [-]
The "out for a walk" is a horrible analogy. Unless you are walking in the middle of the road, there is no way to increase your chances of getting hit.
And if you dress provocatively, then you are at fault, even if it is just a little bit.
#39 to #37 - jazzingtonshire (08/06/2012) [-]
No, you aren't at fault. There's no way you can claim that people who get raped should shoulder the blame for other peoples mental illnesses. If someone rapes someone, for whatever reason, they are 100% culpable for their actions. Not the victim.
User avatar #40 to #39 - budbrown (08/06/2012) [-]

Err, no. I had an opinion, and FJ did as FJ does when someone has an opinion that goes against the grain - thumbs down en masse. I posted it in response to the top comment so more people would see it. The content implied that raping girls was alright if they dress skimpy, if you agree with that sentiment you're a moron.

Such a flood of comments from butthurt faggots that I can't be arsed replying to all of them. My implication was not that the comment I originally responded to was about rape, I replied to the top comment so the most people would see it. The point is a load of people on FJ are always saying girls who dress in skimpy clothes deserve to get raped. Actually saying people don't deserve to get raped, apparently, causes mass buttanguish on this site. No wonder I barely ever come here anymore.
User avatar #4 to #3 - sundip (08/06/2012) [-]

You were banned because no one liked you or your opinion. Has nothing to to with bandwagons. I'm suprised that a fellow blue name is acting like a new fag right now.
#9 to #8 - jazzingtonshire (08/06/2012) [-]
>acting like a blue name means anything

This kind of unwarranted self-importance is such bullshit. Are you telling me you haven't realized that people on FJ see -5 thumbs and thumb down regardless, without reading comments? That always happens. It works both ways, +5 thumbed comments get thumbed even further up etc.

The only reason people weren't willing to accept my opinion is because it is right. People on FJ thumb every "women logic" post up to the front page because they're angry at women. None of these posts are funny, they're absolutely dripping with passive aggression against all girls and it's just stereotypical bollocks that has grown tired. I don't know if these people are shut-in neckbeards or what but they'd really want to do away with the chip on their shoulder.
