Have you played Mario Party with friends and not have a destroyed friendship?

It's like that but physical injuries are more likely to occur

A game is not worth getting angry over. Especially losing friends over. It's for goddamn entertainment, why so serious

Human mind ain't that simple

Oh please, let's not act like we all can't act rational and after a game geared towards children and nostalgic young adults, still be friends with the players we played with. Human mind IS that simple because it's that pliable. You can choose to immerse yourself so far into the game you lose friends and if you do, you're a faggot. You can obviously choose the opposite and the play the damn game with some maturity

Ruining friendships is just an exaggeration for comedic effect.

Doesn't matter if it's a game, if the human brain gets angry at a result, it gets angry at the result

Only idiots who can't control their emotions subsequently can't control how angry they get over a goddamn game.

Depends on the game

if it's something like an RTS then you can't complain if you lost because a strategist loses as soon as his emotions go out of control.

If it's something like hockey where adrenaline and testosterone is flowin' and someone just body checked you a little too hard then it's only natural to get angry. Plus one of the fun things about hockey are fights. There's a reason why refs don't break fights up immediately.

If you're depriving your body of physical activities to the point it produces adrenaline and testosterone over Mario Party similar to what hockey players produce on the ice, you need to get out more.

There's almost always a competitive component with games. And Mario Party was just an analogy using a well-known game that's "notorious" to bringing out the competitive side in people

If you can't control your competitive nature and emotions in the context of playing a video game casually with friends, then you've failed. It's no better than a child throwing a tantrum over losing but worse because while the child's actions are deemed normal, a grown ass adult should not be acting that way

Games were meant for fun

sometimes it's fun to let your competitive side take over and just go with the flow

goddamn you need to get that stick out from your ass

"Games were meant for fun"
You get mad and have a fight with your friend over it.
You've defeated the purpose of the game and your own purpose of playing it.
That's not smart.

Getting mad over a game and having a fight about it can be long-term investment where you can laugh it off with your friends
User avatar

Right, because when you and your friends hang out you talk about fights you had over video games as adults. How charming
User avatar
#48 - killerliquid (08/26/2014) [-]
Sure why not. Even adults love to reminisce about stupid shit they did when they were younger. There's a lot more stupid things than fights over a game.

"Hey wanna play mario party, get mad over it, and have a fight?"
"Hell ya! We're creating memories!"
