What is carrying the bags it's not only your finger. The finger muscles are connected to the muscles of your arm. Meaning that your finger is the hook, but the support is made by your whole arm. If it were only the muscles of your pinky finger believe me, your pinky would be no more.

There are no muscles in the fingers, only tendons

It doesn't matter, the fact that the finger can take that kind of force from both the bag AND your muscles exerting opposing force on it tells me it's a lot stronger than a carrot.

maybe its the cutting edge of the teeth that the bags lack?
User avatar #22 - corso (02/27/2014) [-]
Yes, fingers tend to be made for lifting things. Carrots are not, however.

biting through a freshly plucked full size raw carrot requires more force than you think, especially toward the top where the circumference is the largest, I've seen some tough carrots in my time

how confident are you?
because I'll totally try to bite your finger off either way
#28 - anonymous (02/27/2014) [-]
I once tried to bite through my index finger at the joint when I remembered this "fact" while tripping on acid. I got scared and stopped once I tasted blood and realized I broke the skin. i don't doubt this one.
User avatar #39 - Lambda (02/27/2014) [-]
Got to be careful with stuff like that on acid. Your pain responses work differently and unpredictably while tripping.
#18 - corso (02/27/2014) [-]
Not the bone itself, man. Biting it at the joint.
#20 - jaedi (02/27/2014) [-]
I don't know about you, but I can lift a good 4-5 grocery bags on the joint of one finger. I have never in my life found a carrot that can do the same.
