First off, why is it racist to attack someone's culture? You may say it's intolerant, but please know that racism is about race, biology, and not about culture.

Secondly, there is peaceful muslims, but not a peaceful Islam. Try to watch "Islam - What the West needs to know" www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xCdehrV96U

It's not really such a peaceful and beutiful religion.

Culture an religion are often very intertwined in the middle east. As for Mohammed believing in the rights of women and children...well.....didn't he have a child bride?
#93 - jackassalope (07/10/2013) [-]
I don't mean to paint him as a champion of equality and rights, such ideas didn't really exist back then, and historical context is often important when looking at these things, but he believed that taking care of them was a major goal. His mother lost all ownership of 'her' belongings when her husband died, all of them going to muhummad's uncle. He was supposed to take care of his brother's wife and kids, but more or less chose not to.

It is also written in the Quran that woman's vote is half as good as that of a man, so I wouldn't really give religion a free pass here.

Yeah, I was told it was the extremists to look out for. It's like the extreme religious people in general. Those who proclaim to be Christians aren't liked by the real Christians. Even I look at people like the Westboro Baptist and want to hit them with the thickest, biggest Bible I can find and then tell them to read it again once they regain consciousness.

Tips are meant to be an extra reward for good service, not compensating for the shit that the restaurant pays its workers.
#223 - anonymous (07/06/2013) [-]
Because tips are not taxed.
Or rather, there's a minimum amount they can claim, regardless of how much they make.
And in a lot of places, the 15% gratuity is for parties of a certain size. My local Grapeleaf (Mediterranean cuisine) adds it for parties of ≥10

i'd much rather see the employees paid better than my tip being their only good source of income.
#57 - jackassalope (07/05/2013) [-]
Well, that's an issue, forced gratuity or not. Restaurants are allowed to pay under minimum wage as long as tips actually put them over. So if the staff doesn't get enough tips, the restaurant is forced to cover the difference.

No, explosive. Flour is flammable, fine flour particles are considered explosive. Same goes for something like sawdust. Sawdust is flammable when it's sitting in a pile on the ground, but when the air is filled with it it's considered explosive.
