House music 101

First, we have House music, very different to the stuff played on the radio all the time. Can sometimes be funky but mostly electronic, usually consists various samples.

French house. Funky, consist completely from samples, it's not a remix though, because it usually lacks the very most important parts of the original song, or is simply edited to be unrecognizeable.

in this example, the main sample is only a few seconds long, and the rest of the song is sampled from all over the original song.

in this example, the sample is very solid and recognizable, the bassline and vocals take the song on a whole new level as needed.

Traditional, modern house. This is what artists like Guetta and Harris are trying to do, while going suspiciously close to pop music.
