Not sure if proud about the fact that I wasn't the worst on this song, or ashamed that I was playing it on casual, or just surprised that 9 people have audiosurf'd it.

By the way, am I the only one that sees a great wipeout ship design?

You're good at 3d designs, you should do an ortofon concorde ship!

Maybe this weekend, got two exams this week.
Were you ever able to find yourself a decent preamp yet?

it seems the funnyjunk mistook some underscores in your url as formatting for italics, I'm getting a 404.

If Vinyl is able to push up to 192KHz naturally, why is RIAA eq limited to 20Hz-20KHz?
One of vinyl's most prominent advantages of CD is that it can push a full, natural frequency range beyond that of CD.
I know 20Hz-20KHz is supposedly the limit of human hearing, but some information beyond that range can be picked up and interpreted by the brain in one way or another (like being able to physically feel bass, for instance)

here, take this:
goo.gl/

at 2000€, you'd almost be better off researching and building your own preamp.
I'm beginning to suspect the audio hardware industry is very much similar to the IT industry in that they'll charge you up the ass for premium equipment when you could build your own that's just as good if not better, at a fraction of the cost. (cough, Mac, cough Alienware)

The cost of ignorance be a cruel mistress. I've seen dacs go for 1000+USD that are only barely on par with an Asus essence one which is only 600USD. Being that Asus is known for delivering fairly good quality at reasonable prices (since they manufacture all of their components in-house), I'm curious to see what kind of quality a home-built dac can deliver for before things get too expensive.

Maybe the same could be said of preamps. It would be an interesting venture.

Background and education in digital electronics, check
Free parts from University and Texas instruments, check
Brother who knows how to solder, check
PCB design software, check
Building a high-end market quality dac shouldn't be a problem, might as well give a shot, ought to look into designing amps too.

I can't solder for the life of me, terrible at it. My brother; however, can solder to an amazing degree of precision and skill. Generally, he can do what usually takes machines or robots to do (to some extent).
