insanity isn't meant to help you build muscle all it will do is make you loose weight...p90x would help build you up and tone you if your looking for a video type workout but i would recommend doing some research on good workout plans then working out at your local gym.

Get whey protein shakes. The protein is instantly absorbed so before and after workout your muscles get all the protein they need. Then take a shake on your rest days while muscles are healing as they still absorb the proten.
You should never have to take those kind of things, working out should almost always be enough.
A weight gainer shake would be a good idea but make sure to get one that isn't full of simple carbohydrates. You will also be need to eat a lot of protein and carbs try to stick to lean meats and only eat complex carbs such as brown rice. This will help you to gain size with the least amount of fat but don't expect to not put on fat when you are bulking up its just not possible. You can also look into taking creatine but from personal experience i would not recommend it as you will put on size and gain strength but your joints will suffer and you will become prone to getting cramps and tight muscles.
