I'd also like to add that the game is fre to play for the next ten days, it and all of the DLCs are 75% off for the next ten days, and they'll be doing more shit like giving out free guns for the next ten days. I don't think it's far to call Overkill a money grubbing company if the shit their doing is 100% on the consumer. This isn't some arbitrary EA pay2win bullshit. It's just a $2.50 weapon skin.  The update and skins, I didn't mind. Hell, deagle and bronco are my new favorite guns now. But this is not OK. pd2stats.com/  I mean, to be fair, the FBI files ARE better. And besides, it's not like Overkill attacked this guy. People just stopped using Payday 2 Stats. I used to use Payday 2 Stats all the time, but now I used FBI files. anon (10/16/2015) [-] Problem is that people are mad that we were told by the owner/dev that there would never be Micro transactions, for crimefest we were told we would recieve free content HD skins can go fuck themselves and balancing weapons is not content thats shit they should be doing anyway . And you can't compare TF2 to Payday, because on TF2 you get crates you can scrap weapons and shit get metal and eventually trade for keys to open them, here thats not an option, you have crates you can sell for a few cents and the price is only dropping like a fucking sputnik . On TF2 the game is f2p with an ingame store filled with useless goodies, Payday is a 20$ title with over 100$ worth of DLC. TF2 those items are mostly cosmetic. Here these give a flat upgrade to your weapon's stats and with Overkill's storied past of powercreep we can expect hands down skins to eventually do stupid stuff like +10 concealment or other bullshit OP effects Now that bullshit aside, day one was a total flop for me outside of the LMG speed penalty removal. I mean HD textures are fucking shit, the customization screen is terrible it makes finding the silencer a bitch same with a scope. And frankly the only reason I like the LMG fix is because the Minigun is broke as fuck and you can run at Two Piece Suit speed in ICTV. In short, you're a fucking twit if you think this shit is alright, and you're more than welcome to go back to suckling EA and Ubisoft's teat. But for the rest of us P2W strategies like that don't fly. Sure at the very moment we may not have to buy skins, sure they may not be strong at the moment but unless we tell Overkill that this isn't going to fly with us then they'll think its alright and keep doing it and keep making stronger and stronger bonuses for the skins which eventually will break any sense of balance in the game.  I agree that its great that more weapons are useful. But the balance is awfull 650 damage english long bow, while mausin nagant does 200 something. Pistol does more damage then alot of rifles etc. Also the skin changing stats is something I do not enjoy. Skins are all right but overkill already has tons of dlcs and keep promising more free content like safehouse customization but instead of working on that like the community has asked for for so long. Lets make more dlc and skins. Also they promised to not have micro transactions way back, something that went out the window when they introdused the skins. Other then that I guess the skins are ''fine'' but making them like the mask customisation would have been just as much job if not less and way more interesting. Just hopes the other days are less dissapointing. Sorry about my gramer and spelling.  I'm pretty alright with the bows and crossbows doing so much damage since they're a bitch to hit anything at range along with arrow drop, lack of mods, slow reload for pretty much any bow/crossbow that isn't the plainsrider bow additionally I'm fairly certain they don't have punchthrough like the Thanatos so that high damage is pretty much all they got. But christ all mighty do those pistols need some nerfs they are to damn powerful However its really quite easy to hit enemies with bows in close combat or medium combat. Sure they do not have punchthrough but they do have repick able ammo. Which means that you have a easy to fire weapon that can kill pretty much any enemy for close/ medium range with infinte ammo if you are good with it and or uses dodge/ grinder. I mean even the 50cal has disedvantage with ammo. Im not saying that the bow should have as low damage as before but this is just ridiculous and makes the combat way to easy. The bow is just a example loads of weapons are like this now. They took a problem that many did not have and made it worse. #79 -
anon (10/16/2015) [-] It's not just a weapon skin though, they actually alter the weapon stats. That's the problem, because the only way as far as I understand to get said skins is to buy a key via real money. Imagine CSGO where certain skins gave you better accuracy or something. It would be fucking awful.  I honestly don't mind all that in the recent update. What I DO mind though is how they fucking made the weapon stats all weird. Originally my CAR-4 did 22 damage. Now it does 44. The max stability for AR's was like 30. My CAR-4 now has a stability of 65. The stats are all just kind of disorienting to me now, just like when that one Runescape update came out and instead of 50 health you'd have 500.  It's not that we shouldn't mind it, it's that they lied to us. "Free update" "We put out keys that you pay with money". And it's true that the skins don't really matter, it's not a frikkin competitive game, but even so they're separating the playerbase. They executed this crates announcement thing so badly. Also, the weapon rebalance is garbage. Overkill was easy as it is. LET'S MAKE IT EVEN EASIER. Hell, DMCWO was better than this weapon overhaul. Now just watch as they go full f2p and make the game f2p. #33 -

And son, let me tell you, I've taken almost every gun in the game through Death Wish. I have made it my goal to get 1000 kills with every gun in the game, primary and secondary, and 100 kills with every melee weapon. Because I'm really fucking weird like that don't judge me There are some guns that couldn't kill a fish on Death Wish. Seeing those guns get buffed is amazing. Finally, more guns that actually kill things as opposed to shooting BBs. I doubt Payday 2 will go F2P. I know TF2 did, but they also had a huge following. Payday 2 had trouble getting 30,000 people online at once time. They're scraping by on the skin of their asses right now. The last thing i want to see if one of my favorite games go under. If some random people want to blow $2.50 on a skin? Let them. Sadly, the higher rarity weapon skins do have effects, and the rarer the skin the better the effect. Combine that with Overkill's past and we see a horrifying picture painted for us as they have a history of Powercreeping with their DLC and its only a matter of time before they do the same with the skins. I mean really, how long do you think it'd take them to make a skin that has +10 or even +5 concealment. even just two or three points still huge amount and you can bet they'll have that as a skin effect sooner or later. The weapon stats added by skins are small and pointless. +1 or +2 accuracy isn't a game changer. Though, if they ditched the loot crates and made the skins drops, and then made the skins have different stats just like weapon parts, that WOULD be pretty cool. Some skins are flashy and fuck with concealment, other skins are dark and help with concealment. I like your idea. If that happens, come back to this comment and tell me "I told you so", and I'll admit I was wrong. Until then, I won't condemn people for actions they MIGHT take. Not even a month and I feel confident in saying I called it. New COP safe and Dallas Safe has teamboosting skins that grant additional XP and Money 1-3% that stacks dunno yet if that is additive or multiplicative. . Bernetti 9 skin gives additional concealment Allows you to make a dodge build out of almost any weapon. . Clarion Rifle has skins that make it significantly better than its nonskinned variant Yggdrasil is a good one for stealth with breaching owl being pretty good for loud. . Thank god for Lua scripts that unlocks that shit I just looked over the skins, and aside from that one shit R93 and the other shit skin for that one assault rifle they look pretty badass. Yeah, I see they added team stats, but I don't see how that's a bad thing. It's team stats, that's like saying Endurance aced 50% stamina for you and your crew is bad. When the complaint about the skins was "They cost too much" I was totally on board. Now it just seems like people are looking for excuses to hate the skins to validate the fact that they're wrong. I don't think it's valid to say Overkill changed anything noteworthy here. The teamboost skills are neither Pay2win nor hurting the game in any way at all. Reaching infamy once gives a higher xp boost than that. As for the concealment, adding concealment to a pistol isn't a game changer. It's not like you can suddenly run an OP build off of +2 concealment to a pistol. You know what IS a game changer that lets you run OP builds that normal people couldn't? Infamy levels that drop the amount needed in each class. I literally couldn't make most of my builds without that reduction. A pistol doesn't change anything. You could basically ignore everything I've said, because it all comes down to the same question: In what way is this hurting you as a player and a consumer?  You see some skins aren't just cosmetic you know? they increase your weapon statistics. And also, "We've made it clear that Payday 2 will have no microtransactions whatsoever (shame on you if you thought otherwise!)" -Almir Listo 2013 But they don't. It's just weapon skins. That's literally all they are. I don't consider an optional thing for a cosmetic a microtransaction. It's like saying the weapon skins in Killing Floor are microtransactions. The rare skins DO have stats, but it's always meaningless stuff like accuracy or stability. I don't think making a pistol shoot faster is going to break the game. Shit, chances are, that rare skin is for a gun you'll never use. | ||
