I feel that if a government agency (the military) tells young people that they can't get tattoos because it sends a "bad image", that in itself sends a bad image of our country.

ie. You are volunteering to protect the freedoms of our country... but you are not free to choose your own hair style or clothing, even when off duty (when I was in the Navy, I was occasionally turned back and not allowed to leave the base unless I changed clothes, even brand new ones, because someone did not like the style), you are not allowed to "quit" your job, without having major issues later in life, similar to having a criminal record.

You are not even free to openly speak your opinion of the current President (if it is negative) with out repercussion...

My wife's a U.S. "troop" and so am I. Since when are we not allowed to get tattoos? She just got a tattoo a week ago commemorating her recently passed grandfather. Her chain of command knows, shit.

Yeah the people that enlisted before the no tattoo rule can keep em, but people that enlist now can't have too much tattoos. But I think they changed it like not even a month after because of the outrage.

I'm not the one making the rules, I think it's bullshit too.

Ok so here is how it is, if you joined prior to the new tattoo rule then you can keep them and you won't be given shit for it. BUT if you join after the new tattoo rule and you have a buttload of them then you will get shit for it. I think they changed it not even a month later because of the outrage.

I can't see how tattoos and funny messages on bombs can be seen as "Sinking to their level", and I can't see how the enemy thinking were on the same level as them would be a bad thing, if they thought we were as bad as them they'd be shitting themselves.
