I have family up in Kelowna and they tell me it can take anywhere from 6 months to a year to see a specialist or anything non-standard.

Depends on where you live. If you live in a rural town without many doctors, then yes, someone that isn't health-related may take a long time because it's not a priority. However, if you live in a urban town or city, it's less likely to take as long. I went to my doctor in july, had my surgery in september.

I said that's what the message to men is. Not that men should live by this message, nor that I do. And the message in the media sets unrealistic and/or harmful expectations in women's minds for what they should expect men to do / have / be.
"Having expensive things and a high-paying job are not necessary to live a fulfilling lifestyle"
No shit Sherlock, that's what I'm saying.
"these are the kind of girls you go after,"
These are not the kind of girls I go after. These are the only kind of girl that appears to be able to be found. If there's any other kind of girl, that's not materialistic and that values intimacy and loyalty, etc., then they're certainly rarer than unicorns.
The kind of girl I mentioned before (i.e. the materialistic self-centered brats) are definitely the norm / vast majority among women. And no, before you falsely deduce that I somehow like it. I don't.

And to add to my comment (#63), your last paragraph just proves to me that you have little to no interaction with females outside of the internet. Real girls, the ones you meet at school, work, the gym, outside of your room, they are complex individuals, just like men. It is totally unfair and incorrect of you to group them all into shallow and materialistic people. But hey, maybe I'm just lucky. Maybe it's been pure coincidence that the people who I chose to involve myself with romantically have been down to earth and enjoyable people. Maybe it's just by chance that all of the females that I frequently engage with actually have personalities, interests, and a realistic expectation of men.
I don't drop this often, but you're a neckbear, man.

Ohohoho, this is precious. Who's butthurt now? Given the number and length of your posts, as well as all the unfounded allegations you make about me in them, I have to say that you're projecting, a lot. So you're the butthurt one.
"little to no interaction with females"
Yeah, or maybe I had too much experience with females and noticed a pattern. And seen and lived too much fucked up female shit that informed the view I hold of them today.
"they are complex individuals"
No, they're not. 90% of what a woman is can be summed up by placing her on a slider that goes from greed to lust. As I always say: you can either understand women, or love them; but you can't do both. I understand them.
Whatever mysteriousness or unpredictability they cultivate is deceitful in purpose. In truth, they're dead simple.
"you're a neckbear, man"
No, I'm a pigbearman. Half pig, half bear and half man. Or, maybe a shoulderbear, you'll never know.
Anyways, fuck off.

Yes, I'm going to ignore the obscenely unethical behavior women have done to me in my own life, and the unethical behavior I have seen, with my own eyes, women doing to my friends on numerous occasions; and I'm going to take the word of some unknown jackass on the internet. Because that totally makes sense.
Unethical behavior and deceit of such a caliber, mind you, that would make Zoe Quinn's psychopathic lying, cheating and endemic deceit look amateurish and benign.
"I'm not even going to argue with you anymore"
I have already told you to fuck off. So please go right ahead and stop arguing with me.
"...on the entire female population."
Funny how this double standard works. Hundreds of millions of women wrecking their own homes with divorces is not enough to taint the female population in general. But 0.0003% of men raping is enough to launch demonization campaigns against all men.
This is known as the NAWALT fallacy.
"Have fun being alone."
Have fun being women's pack mule and utility. To be used and then discarded when they're done with you and it's time to trade up. Have fun adhering to obsolete, adolescent and childish concepts of manhood.
Oh, and BTW, there's also nothing mysterious or weird about your behavior. You are a blue pill who identifies with and is invested in the matrix. The matrix being the gynocentric conception of (1) masculinity, manhood and how men are supposed to act and (2) of femininity, and female nature aka what women supposedly are (pure, "clean", innocent, fragile, kind, blablabla). You are invested in the lie you have been brainwashed with since birth (by your parents, by movies, by the news, by the feminist-hijacked academia...). But one day, you may wake up and find out the lie you so vigorously defend now, doesn't give a flying fuck about you, your interests, your well-being or your life, for that matter. In fact, you will find that gynocentric memes use men, you included, as a fuel to further their own spread.

The thing is that most of the examples you listed aren't messages sent to men. You misinterpret the differences between storytelling, art, and advertisement.
Yes, in the cases of models being used to sell merchandise and being told that owning expensive things will make you happy and give you a fulfilling life, those messages are being sent to men. But it's all for the purpose of advertisement, and that is the case with everything that's been advertised every. The whole point of an advertisement is to make the consumer 1. think that they have an issue if they don't own the product 2. think that the issue will go away if they do own that product.
But that is not the message that general media is giving to men. You are looking way too into it.

Not on a legal document. I don't get why I'm getting thumbed down, I know because my name is actually Richard. On my birth certificate, it says Richard, so I'm not able to write down "Dick" as my name on any legal document. I'm not talking about signatures, I'm talking about when you have to print out your name legibly. Me putting down "Dick" as my name would be the same thing as me putting down "Tim" as my name and then saying "it's short for Richard."
