c / c++. we used that one to start at university ( we had shittons of pseudocode and concepts before) also, you can download dev-c++ wich is free, and also isn't big. ( the interface is simple too) . you had to start with basic console application, like a calculator, or basic operations. (insert a number and return the double, or insert 2 numbers and take and option , if you plus them, divide them, etc ,etc)

the idea is a game like Final Fantasy/Pokemon
the gameplay is like Final Fantasy the original 8 bit
but instead of Pokemon you control Characters such as
Soliders to Ninja's to Orcs and such
you can control 4 at a time you can have 8 per party
and instead of a Trainer your a King battling and traveling around the world
trying to conquer other Countries and things
in order to catch these "Soliders" or "Orcs" you presaude them by
giving them money or if your good enough with speech like a VN
or if you want, you can buy them as Slaves
and Pokemon evolve, well these guys can evolve too
when they reach a certain level you can promote them
there are 4 classes Bowman, Rouge, Warrior, Mage
and within the 4 classes they branch out, like Warriors can turn into either Gladiators or a Samurai
example - you have a Slave with no job so when he levels up and you promote him
you can either promote him into a Mage, Rouge, Warrior, or Bowman
the graphics will be 8bit but there will be character cards for more detail
(such as pictures and such)

well, there is a point, where you go to "karma temple", and you can change your clase, to sailor, monster tamer, thief, priest, samurai, ninja, and then you go upgrading them. when you get like lvl 5 on sailor, you got upgradet to capitan , and got more spells and atributes. That is why I loved DQVII ! if you had thieft and sailor maxed, you unclok pirate classe, and if you had samurai and mage, you got paladin, with fire sword / ice sword attack spells and such.

yeah its sort of like that except you command 8 or more characters
and you can promote them, i have this huge branch tree of what a Warrior can be

and i already had a Pirate class in mind for the Thefts

but im not mixing them like Samurai and Mage together would be Paladin
there all gonna be separate classes

a Warrior can be either a Samurai, Gladiator, or a Hero and you can upgrade them even further

but you can't switch them to be Mage all of the sudden you have to have another
slave to do so or you can "Presaude" a wild Mage to join you

Nice. Im actually doing something, but is just the game mechanics. I'm just working on gravity and movement, wich is the engine. just left, jump and right. I'm re-reading the stuff to be sure, because flash IDE don't help too much.

Well, programming to event is easy. almost every application on desktop are. and games are too. The code is execcuted on no order. the order is decided by the user. something had to trigger a part of code ( like, pressing a key, or a button) for example, pressing R would activate your ultimate ( obviously, the event is condicionated and check if you can cast your ult, opr the target is right... like lee sin and him ult on blue buff) , then the code start to running. I have to work a few of hours, if you can stay tonight, I will come to the 1 am here must be like 00 there, I can show you a bit of code and what it does

Well, there is, indeed. there are old ones with no Action Scripts , or 1.0. you can use either 2.0, or 3.0.
3.0 got some functions that 2.0 do't have, but 90% on advandced code and 100% of the standard code run perfect.
Ok, its fine then. I'm out of job in almost 1 hour or so. try to get the lastest flash you can, if you want to follow the step. but i would sugguest just try to understand the code
