the latest and dankest meme from /int/ and /pol/

look at my name , then at the meme , back at my name , now at this comment , you realize now that this is my destiny , to shitpost the latest 4chan maymays.

it's a joke about how Portugal is in the African Kingdoms expansion for Age of Empires 2 , and they're represented by the Moors , and the name of their leader is used as "generic portugese" name on /int/ and /pol/ and the " t " is supposedly finnish and means source , so in essence what I said was : " Source : Black Moorish Portugese " in relation to your content.
I don't like explaining jokes, but can't be helped when you're memeing harder than the chemo-therapy for your self-inflicted brain cancer
.

Edit : there was a really bad typo in the spoiler, so I deleted the previous comment

How the fuck did you manage to the conlusion that dictatorships are the result of atheism? You are aware that separation of church and state is a pretty common thing in democratic countries these days right? No idea what you mean by "atheist ideas" either, atheism is just non-belief in a supernatural entity, nothing more.

Plus, atheists don't reject the cultural and moral values, just the ones exlusive to religion.

Communist dictatorships didn't kill in the name of atheism and Germany was a religious state. Concentration camps also weren't set up for religious reasons...

Also, keep in mind it took multiple europe wide wars to begin to reform Christianity ending in the peace of Westphalia. Catholic Christianity being one of the sects least open to reform. The sects that are most open to change are called protestants.

Also, Christianity and Buddhism are the biggest religions because the doctrine encourages followers to spread it and they both offer the reward of heaven/nirvana.

I am an ex-catholic and this is one of the reasons i left the church anyway. It doesn't help when you are a child in a divorced family either. My family was ostersized from our church when i was 15. It was bad enough that my family was going though a tough time, and then to be kicked out from your community for one "sin" that my parents made?
Here is what i believe now: god does not likely exist, big deal. I have come to terms with my beliefs and do not cram them down anyones throat. when someone asks me to pray with them, i pray because i have respect for their beliefs. I go to church with my grandpa to keep him company too My grandma was taken by alzheimers . I do not question others beliefs if they do not bother with mine. sorry for this rant but What really pisses me off is the blatant disrespect for some elses beliefs. What does anyone have to gain by arguing and sniping at each other? they claim its for a greater cause but ii"s is just a literal excuse to be an asshole.

TLDR:Basically, I'm telling everyone to grow the fuck up.

Atheism isn't one giant organisation, it's simply a lack of a belief. What you say may be true of some, but those people are idiotic hypocrites, faith or not. That said, atheists are far less likely to just dismiss a rational argument, because they aren't first making sure it fits with their religious beliefs. Not all atheists are fedora wearing neckbeards, just like not all religious are ISIS or Westboro baptists.

Yes, and I also referenced the normal atheists in here.

See, gnostics, whether they're atheists, theists, or whatever, are just massive fucking assholes.

Agnostics don't give much of a shit in general, since they just don't know and don't claim to either, which stands in direct opposition to Gnostics.

A gnostic atheist is the exact kind of people you find in cringe comps.

you would have a point if not for:

a) I've yet to see a single religious argument that wasn't easily defeated by simple logic. the whole "why does evil exist" tends to trump most of them.

b) religious beliefs and mindsets are dangerous, so convincing people otherwise is an important endeavor.

and for anyone who says religion isn't dangerous, tell that to the folks who were on the wrong end of numerous islamic extremists over the past few years, or the kids who die of all sorts of horrible diseases while their parents attempt to pray them better.

I get that everyone has the right to believe whatever they want, but you don't have the right to act however you want, and most religious beliefs should probably be classified as mental illnesses

plus, religious or not, the rejection of scientific values and thinking is stupid and counterproductive to society.
#11 - anon (12/29/2015) [-]
Evil exists because free will exists. People are free to do wrong. There are other arguments. The "HURR IF GOD IS OMINPOTENT HOW COULD HE NOT JUMP IN AND SOLVE ALL OF THE WORLD'S PROBLEMS" argument is infantile in its conception.
User avatar
#10 - dafttpunkk (12/29/2015) [-]
>why does evil exist
"it is the choice to do evil which is evil" -the qu'ran
It was the will of god to give people free will, gods will is not synonymous with what he finds pleasure in. And for what you may say about starvation or poverty, this life is a test, "and a man who struggled all his life felt he never suffered a day upon entering paradise"

>religious beliefs and mindsets are dangerous

"whoever killed an innocent man shall not smell the scent of paradise" sahih al bukhari (6914)

"I have not been sent as the invoker of curse, but I have been sent as mercy."

nothing youre saying makes sense and you make religion out to be this evil thing when people say like muslim radicals use the "religion" as a political facade, they do not practice islam, they simply hide under its guise as to influence people; much like hitler influenced people that jews were responsible for all wrong doing, anything can be manipulated to motivate an agenda, and religions of peace are sadly sometimes put in the crossfire.
#23 - anon (12/29/2015) [-]
God didn't give people free will.
Why do people always think he did?

Satan gave us free will by tempting Eve to eat from the Tree of Knowledge, which God had forbidden. Once humans had free will he threw them out of the Garden.

God made us to be obedient without question.
Lucifer gave us free will.
God got rid of us.

Nothing you say makes sense, God forgives all, so Hell is empty and Hitler is enjoying himself in Heaven.
#6 - internetexplain (12/29/2015) [-]
>A

Have you considered yet, that people are religious, because they are religious? Sounds baffling right? But people actually become religious simply because they want to, it's free will, a concept, that ironically, is questioned by atheists more than anyone else. (actually nihilists, but I've yet to see one who isn't also an atheist) Sure, most religious folk just grew up that way, but the point remains, they can chose not to be religious anymore whenever they want.

>B

"Atheist ideas and mindsets are dangerous, so convincing people otherwise is an important endeavor. And for anyone who says Atheism isn't dangerous, tell that to the folks who were subjected to numerous communist dictatorships over the past few decades, or the kids who were sent to concentration camps because their parents had different political views than the Government.

I get that everyone has the right to believe whatever they want, but you don't have the right to act however you want, and most Atheist ideas should probably be classified as anti-governmental terrorism.

Plus, atheist or not, the rejection of Cultural and Moral values is stupid and counterproductive to society."

As you can see m8, I too can play the fallacy game.
Anyway though, some cultures are inherently inferior to others, it's a simple fact.
Culture influences your general behaviour and ideas more than anything else.
Religion has a strong influence on culture.
That said, you can't just take the literal Religion of Conquest and use it as an example for the rest, that m8 is called cherry-picking.

I reckon that most religions these days are out-dated as shit, but unlike Islam, other religions allow for reformation, Catholic-christianity in particular is very open to change.
Christianity in general, much like Buddhism is a highly secular religion, that not just allows for, but encourages science, and explicitly state that no Spiritual leader, should ever hold Worldly power and vice-versa.

Christianity and Buddhism aren't the #1 and #3 largest religions on earth, with a total of 3.5 billion followers, for no reason m8.

Additionally, maybe before you criticize other people's life choices, you should stop doing that thing, where you have the exact same attitude and reasoning, that you yourself are denouncing.

Though STTGL should have some degree of influence over time anything with that much mass needs to generate a gravity field at least on par with a black hole but it wouldn't be consistent throughout STTGL. Which angry mobs? All this stuff about the BND, and the Fourteen Eyes, and Germany and Merkel begging to be in the 5 Eyes. Merkel knew all along, and acted outraged when she found out her phone was being tapped. If you recall Germans in particular were the harshest when the whole Snowden thing came out towards the US. Claiming we are an evil empire and a 3rd world nation and whatever.

Then the whole thing with dropping Nuclear Power and moving to bituminous coal and acting like it is good for environment. Because the Earthqauke+Tsunami thing that happened in Japan is totally going to happen in Bavaria. And the German people eat it up.

The real Problem here was actually Belgium's lack of cooperation.

Emperor Wilhelm II didn't want to face France at the maginot line , requested trespassing rights from the King of Belgium , was denied , and obsessed with Prestige as he was , attacked Belgium to get his way regardless , which forced Belgium's ally - the British Empire - who was formerly a supporter of Germany (despite the Navy issue) , into the war.
User avatar #276 to #275 - internetexplain (05/06/2015) [-]
Well remember mein jude , germans invented communism , the only thing that stopped us from being communist after we exiled the emperor was just a single hour time difference between 2 guys calling out 2 different Republics , 1 being a capitalist democracy , the other a socialist democracy
User avatar #278 to #276 - damping (05/06/2015) [-]
Too bad communism doesn't work though, because you will always have people taking advantage of the system for their own gain Merkel and her cronies. . Now of course, you will say that happens in capitalism too. But the difference is, that is an outright goal of capitalism, and everyone knows it is being done.

Face it, the US is the closest one can get to a Meritocracy on the planet right now.

Debatable , especially if you think about the ridiculous debt people make when they want to Study in the U.S , in Europe , specifically Germany and the Scandinavian countries , are encouraging people to study by funding their education.

Remember that , a meritocracy is a system that encourages and rewards effort and innovations , and I'd say a state that discourages higher education like you guys do , is the exact opposite of meritocracy

My last exam of my college career is tomorrow. The US encourages and rewards efforts too. I go to a private school where the tuition is $55,000 a year. Because my parents are wealthy, I am graduating debt free. Every single one of my friends is getting tuition help from the University, in fact most don't have to pay tuition at all, just room and board.

If I went to my state University, I would only have to pay $8,000 a year. In fact, my dad said if I went there instead he would give me half the difference in cost, which would be around $80,000. But, my mom went here, and I have always loved this school and have always been a fan of the football team. I majored in Mechanical Engineering and I am going to be making $60,000 yearly plus bonus right out of school. Even if I had loans, I could pay them off easily. This system encourages useful majors.

Why should society have to pay for more English majors?

Lel , dat last one , sick burn m9

but anyway , arguing over the details aside , every industrial society is a meritocracy right now.
Sure , that can change once China becomes a 1st world country , but when that happens , there won't be enough resources left on the planet for China to sustain it for even 1 day.

What? Are you an English Major?

And I wouldn't be so sure we are going to run out of resources.

Nah , I was serious , but any comment in way shape or form in my manner of speaking , would sound as if I was mocking you.

also , I'm pretty ******* sure we're running out of Resources.

Here is the deal with capitalism - to get more money , you need a greater production , to have a greater production you need more resources , the get more resources you need money.

fast forward 2 centuries of capitalism and industrialization

your state requires you to have infinite growth , because if you don't " muh economy is breaking down " and " recession , my god , recession , soon we will be greece "
and because of infinite growth , all industrial nations right now , require 40% of all resources just to sustain their standard of living.

Now imagine what happens when China AND India become industrial nations.
since the industrialized world amounts to about 1 billion people currently , China and India each would require another 40% of all of earth's resources to sustain a standard of living similar to our current one.

Where you gonna get dem 120% from ***** ?

That is assuming technology doesn't reduce our consumption. I think you will find humans are very good at surviving.
User avatar #292 to #291 - internetexplain (05/06/2015) [-]
Indeed but unlike your assumption , mine isn't exactly far fetched.
Do you have any idea how often we ran out of resources in history?

Let's just say - very often.

And yet, we are still here, consuming more and more.

yes and since history will most likely repeat itself , we will solve that problem temporarily via another global war.
